Silentkit
Gender: Female Rank: Kit
It was a peaceful day in Riverclan. The sky was clear, the air was warm, and the nursery was full to bursting with kits, the young Silentkit being one of them. She was the only surviving kit in her litter and perhaps the only surviving member of her family. However, Silentkit didn't understand that. For all she knew, the entire clan was her family. They all took care of each other and her.
So, Silentkit, pure white with icy blue eyes, made her way out of her nursery, her fluffy tail sticking straight up in the air. She looked around at the bustle of the camp, ears twitching curiously. Their mouths moved, but no sounds came out. They made weird expressions, but she didnt know why.
Then, several grown cats looked to the side and Silentkit followed their gazes. A patrol of cats had just returned, laden with prey. She shrugged, unconcerned with whatever they were doing, and trotted toward the edge of the camp where the river flowed.
Her home was surrounded by water, but Silentkit had yet to set paw in the cool liquid. Today was the day that would change. Today, she would swim like the big cats did.
She reached the edge of the gently flowing river and stared down at the medley of stones and pebbles, taking in their beauty. Why were they so round and smooth? Why were some gray but others were white or red?
Silentkit smiled softly and rolled a particularly round pebble closer to her, then lifted her gaze toward the sparkling river. She stepped closer until her front paws were engulfed in the refreshing river. It felt nice compared to the heat of the sun overhead.
"The river is no place for you darlin'." Fawneye purred, amused by the confidence of the kitten that looked much like she did. The warrior had heard the story of Silentkit, and how she was the only surviving kit. Fawneye shared the sentiment as she as the only surviving kit of her own litter. Her parents had no more children after her so Fawneye was the last one. "Not yet anyways. You'll have to navigate the river when you're older of course."
The warrior scooped Silentkit up with a paw and pushed her back from the river's edge until she was sure she was safe and smiled, "If you want to swim we could go to the Broken Pools? They're much more shallow and much less dangerous." she offered.

Silentkit dipped her paw further into the water, watching as it swept through her fur and enjoying the cool sensation against her skin. She smiled softly and went to step further when a gentle paw scooped her up and out of the river. She panicked for a moment, not sure what had snatched her up.
Was all for paws were safely on the ground, she whirled around, her head tilted back to see the cat that had grabbed her. Now, she could smell the familiar scent of one of her clanmates, though she didnt know this particular cat.
Curious, Silentkit cocked her head to the side, watching the she-cat's mouth move. The she-cat spoke too fast and the shapes her mouth made didn't make any sense to her. Did other cats really learn how to communicate with these odd mouth symbols? No cat had bothered to teach her what they meant.
The white kit shuffled her paws uncomfortably, embarrassed by her lack of knowledge. Her tail twitched unhappily and she stepped back - her ears pinned against her head.
What should she do? What could she do? She wanted to hide - go back to the nursery where everyone was content to leave her alone.
