Mistflower followed her sister out of camp with far less trepidation than the first several times she'd done so. She was a warrior with a responsibility to her Clan, and even if it still made her nervous- she still recalled the Twoleg trap, so far removed from the experience, and wasn't sure she would ever be able to forget it- she wasn't going to let it stop her. After all, the traps were long gone, but SkyClan remained-

And so did she.

She set her sights on a bird in the lower branches of a nearby tree, slowly creeping in its direction.

The young warrior waited for it to take flight, and pounced as it began to move- pinned beneath her paw, it was easy to secure her catch with a swift blow.

For once, she let herself believe that this day was off to a good start.

Stoneheart was glad for the chance to stretch her legs and get out of camp, and with the patrol being just her and her sister, she was almost completely relaxed. Almost, save for the twitch of her ears  Her last few hunting patrols had been rather eventful ones, but Stoneheart hoped this would just be a peaceful outing for the two today.

"Nice catch," Stoneheart mewed, watching as her sister easily caught a bird. There was another not far off in the branches, and Stoneheart carefully made her way toward it. She landed practically on top of the dark-feathered creature, large paw easily pinning it as she nipped the back of its' neck with ease. No hawk swooped down on her from above, and Stoneheart was almost relieved as she dropped back to the forest floor, padding toward her sister with a grin.

"It's not that scary, is it?" Mistflower asked, whiskers twitching. "Well, I guess I was the only one afraid... But it really isn't that bad, once you get used to it. At least we know that there won't be Twoleg traps when we're walking now."

She found herself searching for prey to follow, but didn't make any active attempts to chase something down; she'd successfully caught one thing, so far, and she didn't feel a need to push her luck just yet. It was better to bide her time, wasn't it?

"Not so bad," Stoneheart agreed, padding alongside her sister. "You weren't the only one afraid... You were just the only one who admitted to it." Stoneheart said quietly. Her first clear memories were of the chaos at fourtrees, of twolegs shouting and cats running every which way. Stoneheart had simply buried the fear where nobody would see.

The twoleg traps were mentioned, such an ominous threat from their youth that was now an almost-distant memory, but not one Stoneheart could possibly forget. "I will be happy if I never have to see one of those traps ever again."

"Me too," Mistflower agreed, though that was thoroughly unsurprising. "I think we've seen enough of them for a lifetime. Maybe more than one."

She leapt for a bird that was close enough to reach, if she just managed to time it right.

With ease, the young warrior captured it in her paws.
