Another Chance[C]

Tawnyshadow flicked her tail as she waited for the older warrior to show up. She had specifically requested that they spar, and she hoped that Moondancer would stick to her word. Windclan's outrageous behavior at the Gathering had been unacceptable, and they would have to strengthen their border patrols in order to show Windclan that they were not afraid. It was for this specific reason that she had called for Moondancer, though learning new skills was a valuable asset in itself.

Moondancer padded into the territory alongside Tawnyshadow. The younger warrior had become a favored sparring partner somehow, and with tensions being so high and war seeming to loom over them, what was a better way to prepare than spar? The pair slowed to a stop, and without warning Moondancer leaped forward, careful to keep her claws sheathed as she aimed to pin Tawnyshadow to the ground before the other she-cat could react. "Those cowards won't wait to attack if we let them have the chance. Think fast."

Tawnyshadow wasn't quick enough to avoid Moondancer's first attack. As expected, Moondancer was still superior in terms of skills, but that didn't mean that she wasn't going to at least try fighting back. Tawnyshadow twisted under the silver she-cat, trying her best to wriggle out of Moondancer's hold, only to fail miserably.

She hadn't successfully done it alone, but Moondancer's grip had loosened, and sensing that she wasn't going to hold onto Tawnyshadow, Moondancer backed off. She aimed a sheathed paw at her shoulder, pale green eyes watching her closely.

Tawnyshadow's paw caught her muzzle, and Moondancer was very, very grateful that her claws were sheathed. Still, it made her recoil, eyes flashing as she leaped away from her sparring partner. "Careful, now." She growled, leaping forward to grab Tawnyshadow's scruff. Moondancer was careful not to break skin as she shook her, just rough enough to maybe stun or disorient her. Tawnyshadow was tough though, she'd be fine. This certainly wasn't a retaliation for that slap to the face, of course... It was good practice.

Tawnyshadow wasn't not quick enough to react, and Moondancer resisted the urge to click her teeth in disapproval. In a battle, time was everything. Good thing for Tawnyshadow, this was only a spar. She swiped a sheathed paw at the warrior's shoulders, tail twitching as she watched her. Moondancer had thought this would be a more competitive fight than it was turning out to be. Perhaps her skill level just simply far exceeded that of her clanmate.

"Better." Moondancer grunted as she was shaken. Perhaps she had gotten complacent... No, Tawnyshadow had simply used more force than Moondancer would. Either way, for the moment the dark silver tabby was dazed, trying to recollect herself.
