Back At It [Murkyhope]

"Come on, I want to be back before the rain starts." Moondancer glared up at the clouds obscuring the stars from view as she padded away from camp with Murkyhope. Murkyhope, what a gloomy name that seemed to match the weather just perfectly. She was family, a cousin if Moondancer remembered correctly, but she'd never spent time with the older warrior before this patrol Leopardsun had stuck them on. She glanced at the tortoiseshell for a brief moment, then continued forward, ears flicking back in distaste at the feeling of the wet, springy ground beneath her paws.

Murkyhope quietly walked beside Moondancer, keeping pace, though mostly distracted, staring up at the sky. The grey clouds above did not seem like a great sign for this patrol, but a job had to be done, no matter the weather. "Hopefully we will." She mewed in response. "I'm not too keen about getting my fur wet either." Her eyes remained on Moondancer's pelt for a second. Although she knew that Moondancer was related in some sort of way to her, Murkyhope couldn't recall if she had ever really interacted with her.

"Hm, we haven't interacted much, have we?" She mewed idly, turning her gaze back to the path in front of her. "What's your opinion on other clans?" Perhaps small talk could lighten the mood?

"We haven't," Moondancer agreed with the assessment, an ear swiveling in Murkyhope's direction as she spoke. At the mention of the other clans, her lip curled slightly. "The other clans?" She scoffed. She didn't understand why anyone would care about them, beyond only when it was absolutely necessary. "They can keep their petty drama and their paws off of our borders. And besides, Shadowclan is the only one that's important, anyways." She declared.
