Subject: Maintain The Territory [Fogpaw] Sat 22 Apr 2023 - 18:36
"Alright, be careful. If you see tree limbs that look like they're dead, or are hanging, tell me and I'll come over and pull it down." Wolfblossom said as she led Fogpaw through the trees. There was one such branch hanging a few foxlengths away, and the deputy moved towards it with careful purpose. "Best to take care of branches like this before they become a problem. They're unstable and a danger to anyone who passes beneath them, or someone in the trees who isn't paying as much attention as they should be." The deputy stood as close to the trunk of the tree as she could, then slammed a paw onto the broken, splintered thing, watching it fall to the ground below. "We'll bring what we can back to camp with us, for the dens and camp wall."
After his slightly embarrassing endeavor with the snake, Fogpaw had been anxious about hunting again. Luckily, he'd been assigned to a task with the deputy, and he wouldn't make the mistake of stealing a snake's prey this time. He nodded to her instructions, looking up at the trees ahead. It seemed an easy enough task, really. A bit boring, but safer than before. His leg had recovered, but the small marks from the bite of the creature still remained, serving as a reminder of his adventure. To his credit, he'd been able to nearly kill it, and scare it away with the help of his mentor. He doubted that it had survived much longer, but maybe...
He shook those thoughts from his mind with a huff. The snake would be foolish to come after him again. And it was silly to worry about such things. Besides, he had the deputy with him, and he was sure she could easily squash any predators that crossed their path. Finally, he got to work, examining the trees as he trotted along a row of them. He caught sight of a dangling branch, barely still connected to the tree. It hung precariously overhead, and swung with the gusts of winds blowing through the forest. "Wolfblossom!" he mewed loudly. "I've got one." he glanced over his shoulder.

Fogpaw found something quickly, much faster than Wolfblossom would've liked. Leafbare had done a number on the trees that had only truly just began to recover from a fire in the not-so-distant past before she was born, and that meant more weakened, damaged trees than the clan could afford. Still, every find was helpful and would make the territory a bit safer for those traversing it through the trees.
"Good find," Wolfblossom carefully moved toward it, bringing a forepaw down onto where the branch was hanging. It fell to the ground, and Wolfblossom made a note of it. "That one might be salvageable."
She glanced at the apprentice then, while they were here to keep the territory safer, Wolfblossom was never one to pass up an opportunity to check in on her clanmates, either. "How has your training been going, Fogpaw?"
