What are the duties of a medicine cat? : Medicine cats are responsible for the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the Clan. As healers, they must know the uses of all the herbs at their disposal and use them to treat various ailments. They may also use sticks and cobwebs to bandage and splint injuries, and may even provide physical therapy if needed!
ShadowClan in particular has a practice of random mental health checks done by the medicine cat. Mental health issues are just as important as physical health ones, so it tracks that the medicine cats need to keep up with those too.
And of course, med cats visit the Moonstone each half-moon to receive prophecies and guidance from StarClan, which they in turn use to advise the leader and deputy and generally look out for the well being of the Clan. Additionally, it is the medicine cat who escorts apprentices to the Moonstone when they’re ready.

What would you do with this position? : Sunpaw is a morally gray character at this point. He’s still “good” enough that StarClan wouldn’t turn him down, but this will probably change. Right now, he’s sick of being compared to his brother Applepaw (although that’s mostly in his head) and he wants to prove that he’s better than everyone else. He may feel that he can’t accomplish this as a normal warrior and attempt to take on something “greater”. Here’s the catch, though. Power is like a drug to Sunpaw. He hasn’t really had any yet, but once he gets it it will become the main focus of his attentions. As a medicine cat, the state of ShadowClan would rest in his claws, at least as far as he’s concerned.

Why you think you deserve this position? : One, I’m a very active RPer here on site, and have been for well over a year. I keep a note in my phone on what topics I’m needed for at any given time, and I would make Moonstone trips top priority, the same level as Snowfoot’s council duties. Two, I think it could be interesting to have a medicine cat whose intentions aren’t necessarily pure. Who knows, Nightstar might just find a use for his cunning, me-first nature!
