↞ TOADPAW ↠
Toadpaw was a strong believer in that you shouldn’t hold things against others. Sometimes it was a hard sentiment to hold onto, especially with how emotional Toadpaw could be at times, but it was simultaneously true that Toadpaw loved to hold things against
himself— he held the idea to not hold things against others against himself.
Toadpaw was a very complicated cat.
Either way, the apprentice’s gospel would come in handy that morning, as Reedtail finally scheduled a training time for him and Toadpaw. Toadpaw had been an apprentice for
moons now (it hadn’t really been that long), but finally he could say he trained with his actual, real appointed mentor. Toadpaw, while he may gripe and complain, was very happy with this. Reedtail had a lot going on when Toadpaw was given to him, and the black tom couldn’t really blame him for putting training off the way he did. Toadpaw may have to do the same, some day.
”I’m up, I’m up!” he called over his shoulder, very clearly not up at all.
”Just give me a second!”At a snail’s pace Toadpaw stood, stretched, and shook his pelt to get rid of any sleep or twigs sticking to him. Even slower, he left the apprentice den— newleaf was upon them, finally, and the warm breeze on his face felt devine. He had been half convinced that terrible leafbare would
never end.
