Since the dogs had invaded ShadowClan's camp, there hadn't been more than a moment to rest at a time. One thing after another had sent her to SkyClan twice, trying desperately to keep a delicate balance, and still her apprentice had needed to finish her training; the once-urgent thought that she should check on Sablestrike had fallen to the side for some time. Once it finally came around again, however, she wasted no time at all before acting on the impulse.

"Sablestrike, do you have some time? I could use a second set of paws."

This wasn't strictly true: she did what she was about to ask for his assistance with by herself often enough, but it didn't hurt to have another cat around; and it was overall safer. She just didn't consider it necessary most of the time.
