At least he is trying...

Stormwatcher was in the middle of trying to figure out if he should have a nap first and then eat his snack OR if he should have his snack first and then his nap... such decisions he frowned thinking about the possibilities both of them sounded so good so how could he pass the other one up?

He finally settled on snack first, then nap that way he could have another snack after his nap if he woke up hungry too.

Satisfied about his good thinking he settled in and started munching on the last squirrel of the pile... Bummer... that was a real shame..

Usually he would have looked around to see if an apprenice could go catch some more stuff.

However he had slowly been retrained mainly by wolfblossom and Smokestep that he should actually participate in things and like try to help the clan.  


Stormwatcher a couple moons ago would have finished his squirrel rolled over and passed out into a deep sleep and yell at some apprentice later of why the pile was empty again.

Stormwatcher of today however gave out a deep tired sigh once he finished his meal and with alot of effort, pushed himself up and glanced around... he would go hunt but he didnt really wanna go alone.

He couldnt belive that he was voluntarily going out on some mission but the elders would need food tomorrow morning and since he despised mornings it was better to do it now.

It was in his best interest to make sure that the elders were well cared for since his whole goal was to one day become an elder so he could laze around and just be allowed to chill one day in a nice retirment.  So best to keep them happy.


His eyes actually didnt see anyone in camp except for birdstar.. He hesitated for only a moment before shuffling over to her.

uhh wanna go get some food together? he suggested with a yawn. He only knew her from getting yelled at for something and knew her briefly from some other stuff but not as well as he probably should

Oh he would so much rather be asleep right now but he had to show Wolfblossom that he was at least trying to improve.

Stormwatcher narrowed his eyes and looked up slightly at her remark.  Ughh birdstar and wolf blossom were both great at teasing him of his limited work effort.  They were like older siblings that had taken it upon themselves to make him be better.  And as their “little sibling” he hated every second of it.

… I mean I can thrash and scream right now if you want he poked back as he followed her noticing her slight smile of joking.  

The big guy let out a long yawn as they walked along and he watched as she caught a squirrel.  Congratulating her on such a trivial catch seemed like a lot of effort so he managed a grunt of general approval.

This whole trip was already exhausting and he couldn’t believe he had signed up for this instead of wallow around in his comfy nest.  He was half tempted to say he got a thorn stuck in his paw.   But also knew he’d never get away with that for one and for two would never hear the end of that either.  Besides wolf had given him a lot of second chances to improve and he wasn’t intent on letting her down this early.


“Hngggg you all have too much energy.  What did they feed you as kits? Pure honey? he grumbled as he followed along.

A squirrel chattered in a tree above close to storm.  He was closer to it than bird unfortunately so that meant she probably expected him to climb up there and either catch it, or force it to the ground where she could score the kill.  With a heavily exaggerated sigh that only a younger sibling could pull off he slowly gripped onto the tree and clawed his way up to the branch the squirrel was on.  He was a decent climber but far from the best his big size didn’t help at all on narrower branches like this.  He could feel his claws digging into the bark as a light breeze blew around him.  

He slunk towards the target and swiped at it!

The squirrel easily dodged and got around him to a different branch. Meanwhile poor stormwatcher had managed to get himself off balance when he tried to turn and chase it and ended up slipping off the branch and came crashing back down to the ground with a thuddd! Luckily it was not super high at all and he landed on his paws sorta.. he landed on his paws but then faceplanted into a mud patch.


He let out a groan as he got back up his fur on his face all muddy now as he tried to wipe it off with his front paws.

The squirrel let out a high pitched chatter as if it was laughing at him before it ran off.

Storm walked it off briefly before glancing at birdstar with a look that said ‘not a word’
