Sunpaw's ears shriveled to the faint rustling noises coming from the brambles in front of him, the scent of prey flooding his senses. Lifting a paw and putting it down on the ground ahead of him with as little noise as possible, the tom slowly edged his way forward. The shadows of the thick tree trunks around him dimmed his fiery ginger pelt, and the tom was almost unrecognizable now as he stalked among the shadows. Eyes trained on the creature a tail-length away, the tom pushed with his hindlegs and shot forward.
Once out of the cover of shadows, the sun set his fur ablaze. Blinded by the sudden flame leaping at it, the squirrel shot away, its bushy tail disappearing over the top of a tree. Sunpaw landed on his paws, his tail drooping as he watched the squirrel scurry away. It would have made such a good meal for his littermates... didn't Goldenpaw say that it was her favourite? | Goldenpaw watched her brother try and fail to catch a squirrel. It wasn't exactly his fault; without the thick undergrowth of the other seasons, Sunpaw's pelt glowed like fire and stood out like a fox in a horde of badgers.
Turning away to see if she could catch anything, Goldenpaw soon detected the fresh trail of squirrel. Dropping into a crouch, she crept towards the prey. Pouncing forward, her claws dug into the fluffy fur and she killed the prey quickly. ______________________________________ - Requirements:

Sparkpaw couldn't help letting out a mrrow of laughter at the sight of Sunpaw trying so hard to catch the squirrel, only to have Goldenpaw catch one moments later. He certainly couldn't help the color of his pelt. It'd be better off if all prey was blind, Sparkpaw thought, looking down at her own orange paws. Then we'd only have to worry about them scenting us.Sparkpaw padded up to her brother. "Don't worry," she told him, nudging his shoulder. "You'll catch the next one, and you'll be a brilliant hunter!" A moment later, she scented mouse through the undergrowth. My turn, Sparkpaw thought, dropping into the hunters crouch. She hadn't been successful in catching any prey yet, but she was determined to change that. Flattening her ears, she burst forward into the undergrowth straight where the mouse was hiding. Yes! Sparkpaw thought with excitement as her claws closed around the mouse. She killed it quickly, and emerged from the undergrowth with the mouse clamped triumphantly in her jaws. "Wook, guyth! My firs' cath!" ↞ SALAMANDERPAW ↠ ”That’s nothin’!” Salamanderpaw guffawed at Sparkpaw, galloping up behind her siblings with a smirk. They think that’s hunting? Ha! She’d show them! ”Watch this, mouse-for-brains!”Without a second thought or a pause, Salamanderpaw threw herself into the bush head-first. She could catch prey with her eyes closed, this would be a piece of cake! Except Salamanderpaw hadn’t actually… ever caught anything before. It couldn’t be hard! It was all instinct, she was sure of it— just a flick and a twist of her tail, a little roll of her haunches…a mouse she didn’t know was there wriggled out into her line of sight… She caught it! Easy-peasy! Round head peaking up from the brush, Salamanderpaw beheld the prey in her jaws with a broad smile. She was the best around, simple as that! | Darkspirit watched in silence as the apprentices made their attempts to catch prey, some successful some not. He waited for his turn to make an attempt, his expression stoic and unchanging throughout the journey through their territory. There was a slight pang of jealousy as he watched how care-free the apprentices were. He never had that. His father brought the Dark Forest to his first gathering and he never had a chance to truly be a happy apprentice. The cold reality of the world was in his face the moment he could leave the nursery.
Furthermore... there was a certain tom in Thunderclan that he wasn't sure what to do with yet. Maybe he'd leave him be. Maybe he'd kill him and make it look like an accident. Would that make him like Dawnhawk? Was that right to do? He didn't know, but he figured if he squashed darkness before it had a chance to truly thrive, then maybe he could keep the light in the world a little bit brighter for just awhile longer.
A bird interrupted his thoughts as it sprang from the ground and took off. Darkspirit instinctively leaped skyward and attempted to close his claws around the fleeing creature.
Darkspirit attempted to catch a bird, he was SUCCESSFUL -5SP
Clearly still very in tune with his Skyclan heritage, Darkspirit successfully brought the bird to the forest floor and crushed it's head in his jaws. One more to feed the clan. He celebrated nothing, nor did he brag.
