Love Should Be for the Clan [open meeting]

Shrikestar shook his head as he made his way onto the Tallrock. This was a meeting he had not thought he'd have to have. He didn't want to make it, but the actions of some of his warriors had left him no choice. The last thing he wanted was to be seen as a harsh leader. This was for the good of the clan, though. That was what he told himself to make it a bit easier to make the announcement. "WindClan, to me!" The call he had used back at Highstones was coming out again, since it wasn't only the moor runners who needed to hear this. It was important that even the kits knew what to do when they were old enough to cross the camp lines.

Sleepyhollow, who had just finished visiting with Vulturepaw, made her way to the edge of the clearing. She took a seat, wrapping her silky tail around her paws. Orange eyes carefully noticed the tension in her fathers stance and frustration in his voice. She had a feeling whatever may be coming, would be some tough love to the clan from her their leader.

The conversation that Brackenwing had had with Shrikestar, Coyotegrin and Whisperear - if one could really call it a conversation - was still fresh in her mind as she returned from a hunting patrol, dropping a rabbit onto the fresh kill pile and retreating toward the edge of camp. Shrikestar's voice summoning the clan made her ears slide back, green eyes lifting to regard the leader coldly for a moment. She wasn't sure he was fit to lead the clan at all, in truth... But maybe he would make the attempt to actually lead Windclan now. She wouldn't hold her breath, but Brackenwing had respected Shrikestar once.

Owlshade lifted his head as Shrikestar's call rang out, noticing the leader's tone... and the way he called not just for apprentices and warriors, but the entire clan. Anxiety pricked him, and his ears slicked back as the cats around the hollow began to gather. The pale tom hauled himself up from his spot on the fringes of WindClan's camp, and crept closer, finally noticing Brackenwing's mottled pelt. He gave a quick, relieved exhale and moved over to join her, lowering his head to gently, wordlessly, butt her shoulder, and then settling down at her side.

A Clan meeting?... With all that had been happening lately, Flutterpetal feared more bad news. However, it was just as likely that it could be something good. Maybe they'd found a few of the other cats taken by Twolegs, or there was some kind of prophecy from StarClan about a way forward. Or perhaps it was just a ceremony. He couldn't really tell. Still, the black-furred tom found a seat beneath the Tallrock, one ear pricked upward to listen to whatever it was Shrikestar had to say.

As his fellow warriors, apprentices, and even kits gathered around, Shrikestar steeled himself for what he had to say. The last thing he wanted was to bring more bad news, but this was for the good of the clan. Maybe they wouldn't understand, maybe none of them could respect him like Brackenwing had said, but they needed to respect his rules. 'Leader' wasn't just a title.

"As many of you already know, lately we have had an issue with our cats trespassing on other clans' lands. We have also had several cats leave the clan to be with mates of other clans. These actions are against the laws StarClan have handed down to us countless seasons ago, and they are against my laws. The actions of the trespassing cats have brought harm upon our clan, and finding love with another clan's cat is a traitorous action. Unfortunately, it appears that it has gotten too far out of paw. From now on, I have a new rule that all of WindClan will follow. There will be no more leaving camp on your own. If you wish to leave the camp, you will have to be with another warrior. Remember that WindClan has eyes everywhere. Breaking the rules will no longer be met with just a slap on the paw. Please keep this in mind."
