Never Forgotten

Swiftheart just returning from a hunting trip. She had gotten lucky and caught a hare this time. She decided to take it over to the nursery in case any queens or kits were hungry maybe.

She went in to the dark nursery her eyes adjusting for a bit. Hmm shadowclan was blessed to have a recent new kits and Swiftheart also loved to meet them and get to know them a bit better too.

Setting down the meal she glanced around spotting Tawnykit and purred a gentle greeting to them

Tawnykit blinked as a white she-cat, Swiftheart, pushed her way through the brambles, a hare clamped firmly in her jaw. as blue eyes turned to her and the den filled with the sound of a purr, Tawnykit quickly got to her paws and bounded over to the warrior. Swiftheart was a familiar face in the nursery; she visited more than any other warrior, except for the queens and their mates, and always spared time to play with kits.

The tortoiseshell was starting to get bored, too. She laid a silver paw on the she-cat's leg and stood on her hindlegs. "Swiftheart! Tell me a story, please! I want to hear about the Dark Forest and how the Clans defeated them!" she begged, her usually annoyed amber eyes lighting up.

Swiftheart grinned so happy to see the kit excited as she pawed at her leg. Her ears perked up... hmm a story about the dark times? Swiftheart's memory of that time was filled with sorrow and loss.

Her first apprentice Deerleap and Deerleaps mate had sacrificed themselves in order to bring the stars back and to put an end to the tyranny of the dark forest takeover.

She sat next to the kit putting the hare down for the kit to have. "well the dark forest was a very dark time for our clan" she started off explaining.


"They killed anyone who got in their way and didnt let us talk about starclan at all.
It felt like the stars would never return and that nothing would ever be the same. she said quietly thinking back on the horrible time it was living under their rule.


"But shadowclan's two bravest and most selfless warriors made a deal to bring the stars back. She closed her eyes thinking about her apprentice Deerleap and how much she missed her. She didnt want the kit to see she was on the verge of tears.

"They died so that we can live freely now. And we have never forgotten them or their deeds that day" she whispered.

Tawnykit listened to Swiftheart story, her heart filled with awe at the thought of the Clan's bravest and most selfless warriors. Would she ever become such a cat? She certainly hoped so, but doubted she would ever be able to get past her fears to die for the good of her Clan. even so, she could still try, couldn't she?

Swiftheart seemed to grow sadder and sadder as the story continued; had the white she-cat been close to the two warriors who had sacrificed themselves for the Clan? Tawnykit licked the warrior's shoulder comfortingly. "I hope I can be as brave as them one day," she declared, hoping to cheer the warrior up.
