Rookkit
Sunkit, StarClan bless him, had terrible ideas. This was arguably not the worst– it was not making a dogged effort at disappearing from camp before even earning his name as an apprentice, at least –but Rookkit did not like it any more than that one. The day before had been one snowy haze, and now the ground was covered up to Rookkit's chest in it. The snow was denser than it had been with the last flurries, not so fine and powdery. It had been Sunkit's idea to round up all the kits in the nursery to... play. Rookkit took a wavering step through the snow. This was not playing weather, but Sunkit had been insistent, and they had not argued.
The nursery had not yet emptied. In fact, Rookkit was the only kit outside. His ears lowered as he turned back towards the den, staring at it through half-lidded eyes that almost showed expectancy. Larkkit had not even followed yet; they had both been asleep, but Rookkit had wanted to be prompt. Sun-high was when they were expected to meet. Tipping his head back, he saw the sun was in, in fact, high. And yet they were the only one outside. Suppressing a shiver, they refocused on the nursery, staring at the shaded entrance in hopes their attention would will another– hopefully familiar –face outside to join this kittish venture.

Toadkit
This was not playing weather, Toadkit lamented to himself as he teetered out into the snow. The gangly black tom had thin skin and an even thinner coat, and any cold seemed to chill him to the bone. Alas, Toadkit was as impressionable as he was irresponsible, so despite the grumbling and the mourning, he managed his way through the snow towards where Rookkit was standing. Just Rookkit, to rub it in— not even Sunkit was outside, and he was the one who came up with this mess!
”Hey, Rookkit!” Toadkit greeted, probably looking a little silly with his long legs trampling through the snow. His mother often said he looked like a little fawn. ”Where’s Sunkit? I thought he said to be here by sunhigh.”

Darkkit
Darkkit stretched as he crawled out of his warm nest. Sunkit had narrowly convinced him to meet outside of the nursery at sunhigh, regardless of the fact that it had snowed nearly the entire day before.
"Why do we have to go outside in this," Darkkit grumbled, shaking the bits of moss from his bengal pelt. He already couldn't wait for greenleaf, and what his mother described as beautiful, sunny, and best of all, warm. Surely playing outside in the sunshine was a much better way to spend an afternoon!
Darkkit blinked as he exited the nursery and stepped into the snowy beyond. Hopefully this will be worth the cold paws, he thought as he spotted Toadkit and Rookkit. He flattened his ears with determination, forcing himself through the chest-high snow towards them. No matter his uncertainty, Darkkit definitely wasn't about to let the other RiverClan cats have an adventure without him.
"Why does Sunkit always come up with the worst ideas?" he hissed, glancing between Toadkit and Rookkit. Darkkit fluffed up his fur in an attempt to force the cold away. "We'll all freeze to death before we're made apprentices!" he added.

Sunkit
Riverclan Camp
Sunkit was excited. There were lots of new faces in the nursery lately, and that meant new friends! Rookkit and Larkkit were wonderful already of course, but it was exciting to get to know more cats. It meant he was bugging Twistpool less, which the old elder was probably grateful for. He was surprised he managed to talk everybody into coming to play with him this morning, but he was delighted too. There was so much snow! It looked like so much fun to play in and mess around in… he was sure everyone would agree. Once they all got warmed up playing, they wouldn’t even notice the cold!
Sunkit got hold up by a lecture from the queen that had been taking care of him, Lakestone, and he wiggled impatiently the entire time before he was finally granted permission to go join his friends. He ran out of the nursery immediately, plopping into a snow drift with a giggle of delight as the snow poofed around him and got caught in his thick orange fur. “Hi guys!” He called to the kits that had already gathered.
He scrambled over, having trouble navigating the thick drifts of snow and often getting himself covered in it in his attempts to move quickly, but he still tried with the occasional breathless giggle. He reached the gaggle of kits that had gathered. He takes a few steps back to shake out his fur of snow, making sure he’s not in the splashing range of the others (he’d gotten scolded for not paying attention with that sort of thing before.)
“Are you excited? Sorry I'm a little late, Lakestone wanted to talk to me.” He said with a purr, stars practically shining in his eyes as his own body quivered with excitement. “I’ve never seen so much snow at once before!” He moved to Rookkit’s side, briefly brushing his tail against his friend in an affectionate greeting. “Do you know if Larkkit’s joining us? I wasn’t sure when I asked him…” He asked Rookkit.
