Subject: Eaglekit's and Jaykit's Apprentice Ceremonies Mon 23 Jan 2023 - 20:31
After having to call two ceremonies already today, Runningwater let out an audible groan when he scaled the rock for yet another time. This would be the third today. A part of him was starting to despise Coyotegrin for having so many kits, but at the end of the day he knew that they would end up as warriors. He couldn't get too upset. Letting out a sigh, he lifted his head, calling out to Windclan for the third time; the final time today. He decided that he'd combine the last two kit's ceremonies, it would be easier that way. "Let all cats off enough to run the moors gather beneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting."

By this time, Batsong was learning the drill she hadnt moved from last meeting figured that this would be another one soon.
She again watched from the back
------------
Eaglekit hadnt even calmed down from the first two meetings. He was still practically buzzing with positive energy and excitment. "Jay! did ya see Sparrow and Kestrel faces when they got to be apprentices? he said excitedly.
He was such a happy little furball and was easily excited and entertained. He knew Jaykit was less so and was usually a bit of a grumpface. hmm maybe grump would be his warrior name... Jaygrump
he giggled a little at the thought.
When another meeting was announced his little eyes widened so excited as he jumped up and down in circles
"oh yay oh yay he ran over to his favorite spot before anyone could say anything elsee looking up at their deputy, or temp deputy... Eaglekit wasnt really sure what his position was officially but that wouldnt stop his levels of hype

Sparrowpaw watched her brothers, waving her tail absentmindedly as she waited for whichever one would be apprenticed next. Of course, she was happy to be the first of the bunch apprenticed, but was happier that her brothers would be moving into the Apprentice's Den sooner rather than later. Though she wouldn't say so, she enjoyed her brothers company.

"No, Eagle, I didn't see." When Jaykit had heard Runningwater's voice again he was leaning against the nursery wall, or at least what remained of it, watching Eaglekit as he bounced around as usual. There, he would stand until he found out who's ceremony it was. There was no use in standing around, waiting for a ceremony if it wasn't even his.
As far as Jaykit was from the Tallrock, though, he couldn't escape Runningwater's eyes. When the warrior was able to spot the two kits, he waited an extra moment to allow the clan's other members to join the crowd. This would be over as quickly as possible if Runningwater could help it. "Eaglekit, Jaykit. Step forward."
... Did Jaykit hear him right? Did he call for both of them? This could not be happening. He has to share his apprentice ceremony? The kit couldn't be more furious. Kestrelpaw and Sparrowpaw both had their time in the spotlight! Why couldn't he have his own? The young calico pierced this deputy with cold, narrowed eyes, his hackles raised. Runningwater didn't seem to notice, though. If he did, he didn't seem to care. The ceremony had to continue, and a kit's angry mug wasn't going to halt it.
After Jaykit hesitantly(and with obvious agitation) marched to the front of the crowd, Runningwater continued on. "You are both now six moons old and are of age to become an apprentices. From this moment on, you will be-" "No!" A shrill, angry voice rose up above Runnignwater's. "Excuse me?" Looking down, Runningwater's gaze was challenged by Jaykit's. Runningwater narrowed his eyes, but Jaykit remained unfaltered. "Why does Kestrelpaw and Sparrowpaw get their own ceremonies, but Eagle and I have to share!? It's not fair!" The kit called, stamping his paw on the camp's sandy floor. Runnignwater couldn't believe that this kit had the audacity to interrupt a ceremony. "You're sharing a ceremony because that's the way I decided to do it! While I'm standing in for the deputy I hold the ceremonies my way. And unless Shrikestar says otherwise, this is the way it will be." Runningwater's gaze flickered briefly to coyotegrin before he regained his composure. By the look that plagued Jaykit's face, it was obvious that the kit wasn't satisfied with the answer, far from it, but for now he was shut up.
Clearing his throat, Runningwater moved forward. "As I was saying. You are both now six moons old and are of age to become an apprentices. From this moment on, you will be known as Eaglepaw and Jaypaw. Flutterpetal and Weaselfoot will be your mentors respectively." Without sparing a moment to even mutter a small 'congradulations', Runningwater leaped from the Tallrock and moved right past both apprentices, leaving the camp behind for the moors. He needed a break.
Jaypaw, on the other hand, was fuming. How dare that filthy Runningwater tell him that the reason they shared a ceremony was because he said so. Even as praise erupted around him, a frown pulled at the edges of his maw. Looking over, he watched Eaglepaw, feeling slight reassurance in his enthusiasm. With a heavy, vexed sigh, he stood to his paws, meeting his new mentor. "So. What are you going to teach me, Weaselfoot."

It was a good past couple of days with all of the apprentice ceremonies, it made her heart happy to see all of her younger siblings apprenticed...now if Vulturepaw could become a warrior...then she'd really have to celebrate. The calico trotted up to Sparrowpaw, sitting beside her, a laugh rumbling in her throat as she watched Eaglekit bounce around. His excitement and pure energy reminded her of Russetrye as a kit.
As their names were called she held in her excitement until they were given their new names. She was the first to cry out a congratulatory, "Jaypaw! Eaglepaw! Whoop!" shouting was quite out of the ordinary but she felt like a different person after having more younger siblings.

Eaglekit's tail drooped a little when his brother started yelling in the middle of their ceremony. Today was supposed to be a fun day, a happy day and his brother looked so... not happy.
The words hurt a little bit too... Jay was complaining that he had to share with him? Eaglekit certainly didn't mind sharing with Jay and was even really happy that they got to go together... but seeing his brother so upset that he had to share his day with him made him look down at his paws a bit distraught.
Regardless, the ceremony went onwards and their older sister Sleepyhollow was cheering them on happily.
Eaglepaw grinned happy to now be an apprentice just like all his littermates.
So he was gonna be with Flutterpetal huh? He grinned Flutter seemed really nice the few times he had seen him in camp. He bounded over happily to the black furred warrior and dipped his head in respect to them "I cant wait to train under you Flutter!" he said his voice filled with excitment and overall cheer.
Of all the siblings, he was the cheerleader of the bunch, the 'go team go' kind of attitude and believed that they could do anything at all. This led to a bit of overconfidence at times but he was very friendly and sociable.

Both Kestrelpaw and Coyotegrin flinched at Jaypaw's outrage, but both of them were used to it at this point. When Runningwater looked to her, she just shook her head gently. Now wasn't the time for reprimend. Finally though, the last of her two kits were apprenticed and she called out both of their names gleefully.
"Guys! We're all apprentices!" He exclaimed, butting Sparrowpaw with his shoulder as the two brothers seperated to find their new mentors. "Looks like you can't escape us, Sparrowpaw."

Flutterpetal felt aimless. Drifting around territory or drifting around camp, it was the same. Thinking about recent events made him feel foggy. It was in such a moment, sitting idly a few feet away from a ceremony with his head in the clouds, that he was brought sharply back to earth by hearing his name spoken. His name. As a mentor. Surprised, he blinked, standing up with a sudden movement. Really? After his lack of assistance for Snowpaw, who hadn't been seen for moons, Runningwater wished to entrust him with another apprentice? He was able to take a few small steps forward before the new apprentice came springing toward him, exuberant with his new name. Excitement rolled off of him in waves. "Of course," he managed to say, a smile finding its way onto his face. "I look forward to training with you--" what was his name?-- "Eaglepaw." Maybe this was just what he needed to get his mind off of the empty aching of his heart.

Weaselfoot
“Legacy… what is a legacy?”
Of course, the kitten who threw a tantrum would be his to train. He could barely believe his own ears when the rebel mewed over the deputy. Well, temporary deputy, but still outrageous nonetheless. Weaselfoot towered over his new apprentice with his head held high. He glared down at the calico with apparent contempt. What a terribly rude tom-kit. He would not stand for it. “Some manners it seems,” he snapped, “Help the elders with whatever they need for the day. Maybe I’ll teach you something after you learn to show respect.”
