((hnng I’m trying I’m trying this is harder than expected))
The walk from SkyClan territory seemed to be longer than she had expected. How many moons had passed since the forest had seen an uneventful, peaceful Gathering? Perhaps the elders had seen one or two, Birdstar thought bitterly as she paused on the rim of the clearing. The night air was peaceful and still. For a moment, she thought of heading back- of calling off this Gathering for SkyClan. What purpose was there? Someone would fight, or a murder would be revealed, or one of the other leaders would try to take advantage of her relative youth and cheat her out of territory SkyClan desperately needed. Her green eyes took in the clearing, lingering on one of the old oaks where lightning scars traced down thick bark. More proof that nothing good came of a Gathering.
Reluctantly, Birdstar flicked her tail and led SkyClan down into the hollow, leaping onto the Greatrock with a single bound and dipping her head to the leaders already there. None seemed overly stressed- or overly pleased. Perhaps, for once, the stars would favor them, and the forest would be blessed with a peaceful, uneventful Gathering.
Birdstar huffed in dry amusement. If that happened, she’d jump the Gorge.
Lighttail trailed behind ShadowClan as they flooded into the clearing, pelt shining in the moonlight. Her mother had recovered her memory- that should be a weight off her shoulders, but something indescribable still weighed her down, like rocks tied to her soul. The silver tabby’s eyes dully scanned the clearing, keeping an eye out for Stoatclaw or- Astraeus! He made her heart flutter just by his very presence. The ShadowClan molly trotted forwards, waving her tail. “How have you been?” She purred, sitting by the loner’s side.
Sleepyhollow was neck and neck with Russetrye as the two mollies raced to Fourtrees once more, at the head of the WindClan pack, just behind Shrikestar. The calico molly never would’ve admitted it out loud- but- well- every time she glanced over at Russetrye and saw the fierce determination in her friend’s eyes over something as simple and straightforward as a race- well- maybe her heart fluttered. A little. She set her eyes on the hollow, flooding into Fourtrees behind Shrikestar and skidding to a halt, just like she’d done at their first Gathering. Stars. How long ago had that been?
Glancing to Russetrye, Sleepyhollow purred a question. “Are we spying again, Russ? Once you recover from the walk here, of course,” she teased lightly. She prided herself on her ability to run, WindClan blood flowing in her veins- Russetrye, however, could be… hmmm… a bit slow, at times, through no fault of her own. Stars knew no one could match her energy, though. It- it was contagious, Sleepyhollow admitted to herself. She didn’t quite live up to her namesake very well with Russetrye around.
Birdstar is on the Great Rock
Lighttail is talking to Astraeus
Sleepyhollow is talking to Russetrye (it’s very weird being on the other side of these two lol)
I apologize to anyone who’s character I butchered
