Russetrye tore over the moor, pushing every limb to its full potential, and then some. She was a ripple in the moor-grass, the sound of thrumming paws on the cold earth, a red-colored streak amidst the snow. Suddenly she halted; freezing in place as her electric blue eyes locked onto a hare. Stealthily, she slunk forwards- the tall moor-grass concealing both her form and the hare’s. Tall ears twitched- then, suddenly, she sprang forwards, sinking her teeth into the hare’s neck. It struggled, kicking out at the air, but before long Russetrye had herself a decent-sized hare. She picked it up and trotted back to the rest of her patrol.
The wind gusted over the moor as she headed back, rustling the grass. Russetrye paused for a moment, paw on mid-air as she stared out over the heath, eyes unfocusing. It was the wind’s fault, wasn’t it, for instilling within her the sudden urge to throw her prey on the ground and bolt after it, to run under her limbs gave out- but she couldn’t do that to Sleepyhollow and Silverwing. She- she’d have to find a way to tell them. And soon.
((feel free to make your posts short lol))

Sleepyhollow meandered after Russetrye, her eyes trailing lazily over the snow-covered moor, savoring it. The further away from camp she got, the sweeter the air smelled. This is what you want. She shook her head. She wanted Whisperear back. And Brackenwing. That's really what she wanted. She thought she was better - happier, but when Brackenwing was taken she started to spiral again. Another of her clanmates was gone. She huffed out a breath, watching the fog disappear in the wind.
When she breathed in, the dusky scent of a hare reached the roof of her mouth and she dropped instinctually into a crouch, her eyes scanning back and forth until she saw the creature. With a wiggle of her haunches, she launched forward with all of the ferocity and speed of her ancestors. It happened swiftly, the capture and the kill. She didn't waste much time pushing some snow over its body and bound toward the direction she saw Russetrye go.
Amberstone attempted to catch a rabbit, she was SUCCESSFUL -5SP
Amberstone, for one, wasn't interested in catching a big brown hare. She wasn't interested in having the actual daylights kicked out of her and to go back home winded and sore. Sorry clan... but rabbits were going to have to do. The apricot and white she-tabby bounded after a rabbit she spotted in the field. She leaped for it and aimed to sink her teeth into it's neck.
As easily as any Windclan cat could, she caught the rabbit with hardly a fuss. Burying it by a triangle of rocks to pick up later, Amberstone hurried to catch back up to her patrol. An entire patrol of young, inexperienced warriors. What in the world had Smallbean been thinking sending them off together with so many twolegs about? It wasn't something she was about to voice out loud... but shouldn't there have been at least one senior warrior with them? The silence was deafening too. Amberstone however wouldn't be the one to start a conversation. If everyone wanted to travel in silence it was no skin off of her back at the end of the day.
It was pretty hard to grin through the hare, but somehow Russetrye managed at the sight of Sleeps bounding towards her. Best patrolmate ever! She bumped the other warrior’s shoulder, heading back to bury her catch next to Sleeps’. That way if one of them forgot where they had buried their catch (not that that had ever happened) maybe the other would remember. Also, Sleeps had apparently found the only spot on the whole moor where the ground wasn’t frozen to the Dark Forest and back. The other warrior on their patrol joined them, a she-cat… Amberstone! She wasn’t too much older than Sleeps and Russ, but she didn’t think the three she-cats had really interacted before.
“Heya Amberstone!” she chirped, waving her tail. ”Catch anything?” If she had, Amberstone would probably have buried it- but it was a good start to a conversation. Russetrye kept her maw slightly open and ears pricked, searching for any sign of prey while she waited for the other she-cat’s response.

There wasn't anything quite like successfully catching a hare when you were in a sour mood. The struggle, the pain that could ensue, fueled her. She admired the hare, they're cunning, fast, full of tricks. They were a challenge. And she didn't mind a challenge. Plus feeling tired was a welcoming feeling for Sleepyhollow. It meant she had done her part and worked hard for her clan and family. Being able to go to sleep at night tired - limbs sore and muscles tight was comforting to her and made her feel useful. Snow crunched under the weight of her paws as she followed Russetrye, ears swiveling to Amberstone as her friend asked the other warrior a question.
