Honeylight
Highstones
It was a cold and dreary afternoon. The weak sun was partially covered with clouds and even Honeylight's thick fur wasn't enough to prevent him from feeling the chill in the air. His tail swished lazily from side to side, occasionally disturbing the frosty dead leaves underfoot. Honeylight breathed in deep, the cold sharp in his lungs, and tried to catch any hint of prey scent on the air. Nothing. He let out the air in a sigh. "Smell anything?" He asked, turning his head to look at the cats he was patrolling with.
If Honeylight was feeling anything like himself, he'd be overjoyed to be patrolling with two of his favorite cats. Leopardsun and Iceheart always made him happy to be around, and it was a rare, delightful treat to get to be around both of them. However, even with Leopardsun recently dragging him into more self care as of late, Honeylight was still feeling low. Better, with Nightstar's recent return and a sign that the clanmates they had lost were not entirely unreachable, but still... out of it. He had pushed himself to be more cheerful and up--beat while helping Leopardsun take care of the rest of the clan, determined not to let his best friend down, but with Nightstar's return he found his paws once more empty of idle tasks, and his mind once again drifting.
Maybe the cold was contributing to his sour mood. He wasn't a fan of it, finding himself huddling tightly his fellow warriors at night and waking up with a cloudy head and stiff muscles. It was upsetting him, that he couldn't find the energy to... well, to feel like himself. He hoped it didn't bother his friends., especially with how distant he'd been lately. He already felt guilty for Leopardsun taking time out of her busy day to make sure he was feeding himself. He didn't want to make his clanmates feel worse or waste time worrying about him. With that in mind, he made himself smile at Iceheart and Leopardsun as he spoke, hoping to look more like his cheerful self.

Iceheart
Iceheart could tell that Honeylight was not feeling like himself. She could not blame him. He was still young, and yet, he’d had tragedy upon tragedy heaped upon him. The recent assault on the forest by the twolegs was only the latest in a string of stressful problems. That on top of how she’d noticed that Honeylight did not seem to fare well in leafbare, and it made for a difficult time for them all. Hopefully it would not remain that way. Their clanmates would return, the twolegs would leave, and some normalcy could return.
She did not want to draw attention to Honeylight’s poor mood, though. She took a deep breath, trying to smell any nearby prey. This leafbare was not the harshest one that Iceheart had experienced, as that was reserved for the season she had been born in. Iceheart did not think tht there would be another leafbare for many, many years that would beat how difficult that season had been. But even though the weather was not as harsh this time around, the twolegs had made it difficult to hunt in peace. Their presence hung over everything like a prowling predator. Iceheart only hoped that today would be peaceful.
“I think there are some in that direction,” Iceheart finally settled, pointing her nose past a few trees. “It’s hard to tell. The twoleg scent is so strong everywhere.”

Leopardsun had taken it upon herself to ensure Honeylight was taking care of himself, as strange and foreign as the concept still felt to her, though she still wasn't able to tell that his smile was forced. She smiled back to him, and then nodded to Iceheart- the Twoleg scent was unavoidable, as was the thought of them; draped over the entirety of the area just as plainly as the snow. She paused, picking up the same prey-scent underneath it that Iceheart must have noticed. "That way it is, then."
After a moment, she began moving in the indicated direction. "We all know it well enough by now, but stick close and be careful," she advised. "Step on uncovered ground where you can."
In all honesty, Leopardsun wasn't entirely sure that would actually help; but being able to see the ground in front of them (and whether or not there was a trap where they were about to put their paws) rather than leaves or snow was at least a simple precaution. It was nice to be able to focus on things like hunting with her Clanmates and general safety now that Nightstar had returned and resumed leadership: she simply wasn't ready for the stress of it all, even with Honeylight's assistance, and she had been both happy and relieved to return to her usual duties. Even the bitter change in weather hadn't affected her too much, cold and uncomfortable as it was.
