Nightstar's heartfelt perhaps, just a little bit lighter than when he had left the makeshift camp initially. Injuries adorned Nightstar, and the tom that he was bringing to the camp with him, both carrying nearly identical lip scars, but Locusts - previously Cicadashriek - lip scars much deeper, and revealing a bit of tooth and gum. Nightstar made sure that Locust was next to him and close before they could get too close to his camp, hoping that the proximity with his friend would ease any hostilities.
The black tom wanted to call for his clan, but with so many new faces, who could he call for to greet Locust? Instead, he figured that he would call for Burdockroot, and allow for the clan to gather and meet Locust while Nightstar explained that this was no outsider, but a long-time missing Shadowclan warrior. Nightstar beckoned for Locust to follow him into Shadowclan camp, until he found just the cat he was looking forwards. "Burdockroot! I, and my friend, Cicadashriek, need your healing." He meowed, albeit loudly.

Locust had tried his best to make himself presentable as he walked alongside his friend, but there was only so much grooming he could do while moving. He looked like a rogue, not exactly unfitting, but not a descriptor he wanted to carry either. Regardless, his pride could suffer for a few seconds. Locust had delayed his return long enough while he was gone. Now that he was so close to home, he refused to take pause or slow his strides.
Keeping close to the lean tom, he entered the makeshift camp with his head high. He was nervous about his clanmate's reactions or if there would be questions. He wondered how many faces he would recognize, which would be new, and which were... missing... Locust didn't let that show on his face though, his remaining ear flicking as he tried to pinpoint the medicine cat his friend had called to. Nightstar had used his previous name, but hopefully that would capture the attention of anyone who remembered him. Moniker changes could be addressed later.

MARSHMALLOW - Marshmallow had only just found her way back to the other ShadowClan cats. In her panic, trying to gather her kits, she didn't hear that she was supposed to go to highstones, and ended up in an unfamiliar spot for a... while. However, she was very happy to be back with her clanmates, and to see that some of her kits had made it there on their own. They all seemed happy and healthy, and some of them had been apprenticed.
Cicadakit was getting a little too big to curl up with her, now, but she insisted and insisted, and Marshmallow was usually too tired to say no. She was curled up, still, Cicadakit stretched out next to her, she had been very tired from their little adventure to get to the makeshift camp. Marshmallow was awake, though, and quite alert, she just didn't want to leave Cicadakit until she had woken up.
As she began to groom her black-and-white fur, cleaning it of any mud that decided to cling to it, clumping parts together, a sound of pawsteps alerted her. She instinctively started curling her tail tightly around her body, and tried to find where the 'intruder' was. She relaxed, seeing as Nightstar was there... with.. a cat. A cat that she wasn't quite sure she recognised. Their tortoiseshell fur was torn and messy, and they had deep scars. She felt wary, watching them from a distance, before Nightstar finally called out.
"... Cicadashriek?" She echoed quietly, lifting from her curled-up laying position, feeling Cicadakit wriggle awake beside her, presumably because she heard part of her name. Marshmallow stretched her legs, before slowly padding over, almost tripping over Cicadakit in the process. She hesitated, ears pricked. Was that... Is that? She was still wary, unsure if she had heard Nightstar correctly... Well, there was only one way to find out, right?
Marshmallow kept her distance, and she made sure Cicadakit kept close. "Cicadashriek?" She mewed. "Is it really you?"
CICADAKIT - Cicadakit was sleepy, and even that was an understatement. After she had made it to camp with Mama, she had hardly done anything but sleep. She had been enjoying a lovely dream about being the greatest warrior the clans had ever seen when a name brought her awake. ... Cicadashriek? It was hard to tell if that voice was coming from her dream or outside of it, but either way, it woke her. up. "Mama... I don't have my full name yet." She mumbled sleepily, but she eventually turned her attention to a cat that Mama was looking at.
Nightstar? But what's that cat next to Nightstar? Cicadakit hopped onto her paws and started following her mother, all sleepiness suddenly gone from every part of her body. Once again her energetic and curious self. She kept close with Mama, and was curious but slightly afraid of the torn-up stranger, that Mama addressed as 'Cicadashriek'. "But.. Mama, that's... That's..." She didn't exactly have a word to explain it. "That's part of my name, I'm Cicada!" She meowed, though Mama didn't seem to be listening.
She turned her gaze to the stranger. "Did you steal my name?" She asked, as if it were a genuine question.

Swiftheart heard nightstar returning. They had both been avoiding each other for a couple days since their big argument. Which she knew wasn’t good, but it was what it was. His announcement however made her look out and see. She sat a bit stunned at first. Cicada was alive?? They had grown up together, were apprentices with each other. Her brother and cicada often had a rivalry of sorts but she always saw him as a close friend.
She purred once over the initial suprise that he was back and happily and eagerly ran over to him cicada!! You are home! she blinked a couple of times looking at him. Loner life hadn’t been so easy on him huh? All that mattered was that he was back.

Locust peered for friendly faces, his amber gaze soon landing on a familiar black and white molly. He recognized her instantly as Marshmallow, her unique eyes hard to forget. Though, she brought along a new face, a little tortoiseshell kitten, her eyes split with blue and yellow. Did... Did Marshmallow have kits while he was away? When did that happen? With who? He felt so behind.
The young she-kit confirmed his suspicions, calling his old friend 'mama,' but she also brought up something more astonishing. She was Cicada?
"...What?" How could he steal her name? He was Cicada. Or... used to be anyway.
The large tom blinked in confusion, his face blank though it was clear thoughts were churning in his head. "You... You named her Cicadakit?" The words left his tongue cautiously, though there was a touch of awe as he glanced up to the mother. Had he left such an impression on her that she named her child after him? He found it so hard to believe. They had been close, but his brain refused to wrap around the possibility that he deserved to have a kitten named after him. She must have just liked the name.
A cry of his name pulled Locust out of his thoughts, turning his head to find Swiftheart bounding over like an excitable apprentice. He felt relief, seeing two good friends healthy and safe in their makeshift camp. He smiled faintly, the kind reception lowering his walls a bit. "Yeah, I'm home." Not tangibly. The marshes were far off and too wet to be safe... but he was with his clan and that's what mattered. He wasn't going to flee from them again.

Leopardsun's ear twitched at the sound of Nightstar's voice, calling for healing, and the deputy rose from where she'd been resting. Her more recent attempts to look after her own health were being much more strictly enforced by the cats around her, something she attributed to her unborn kits and sincerely hoped would dissipate after their arrival. It wasn't that she begrudged her Clanmates for caring, but rather that it was getting in the way of getting anything done.
So this time it wasn't a kit, or a stranger (then she would have had far more questions), but a long-lost ShadowClan warrior? This she needed to see, rested or not.
"What's all this about, Nightstar?"
She sat down, observing her leader and the newcomer next to him with curiosity.
"My name is Leopardsun," she greeted, because this cat had been brought by Nightstar and was clearly not an intruder. He was at least deserving of basic introductions. "Deputy of ShadowClan. I hope you don't think of this as rude, but... Who are you?"
Cicadashriek. The name was- very, very faintly familiar, as if she'd heard it once or twice.
A long, long time ago; enough that she would have been Leopardkit, still, living under a starless sky.

“Cicadashriek” was a name that Iceheart had not heard in moons. When Nightstar announced his arrival back, Iceheart could not believe her ears. Her first mentor, who she had gotten to know as a kit, who had received a strong approval from Ratrunner, and who she had been assigned to for all of two weeks before he disappeared from camp…How could he possibly have returned?
Yet, when she stepped out to the center of camp, there he was. He was disheveled and scarred. He was no longer the proud cat she knew who held himself so elegantly. The image of her first mentor was instantly shattered and replaced with…this. Iceheart’s head swam as she cautiously approached. She thought of the mentors that came after his disappearance, like Stagshade from the Dark Forest who still occasionally appeared in her nightmares, or Thalia who was currently missing and had not returned like Nightstar had. She wondered if Thalia would reappear scarred and torn like he had.
When she arrived with the group, Iceheart greeted, “Welcome back, Cicadashriek.” She could not think of what other words to say. Perhaps Cicadashriek had not even remembered her; it was not as though they spent much time together. Then, she was just a brand-new apprentice, and now, a senior warrior.

Another voice drew his attention to a new face. A spotted she-cat who introduced herself as Nightstar's deputy. Locust didn't remember this cat. She looked young enough to have been born after his disappearance, or at least not long before.
"I was formerly Cicadashriek, but I went by Locust while I was lost. I was separated from the clan during the occupation of the dark forest when I was a young warrior and... had complications in returning." Mental ones mostly, as shame prevented him from wanting to face his old clanmates, but he also had plenty of trouble with his newfound loner neighbors. It would be easy to shift the blame onto them if pressed. The scars littering his matted pelt should be evidence enough. "I hope now to be able to help the clan back onto its paws and earn a place back in Shadowclan."
As he spoke, a dark brown she-cat caught his eye. A flash of recognition showed through his gaze, the tom perking up with an excitement he struggled to swallow down. "Ice...!" -Paw wouldn't fit. She must have earned a proper name by now, so he trailed off instead into an awkward pause. "It's good to see you again..." An apology hung on the tip of his tongue, but it didn't slip. He was just glad to see she was ok... Nightstar had spoken little good of time between his disappearance and return. He didn't know what he'd do if his former apprentice were among the list of those who perished or went missing.
Locust gave his thick chest fur a few licks, indicating his subtle wish that he had rolled in the snow before his reentry into clan life. Covered in mud, blood, and scars, he wasn't making any good impressions on new faces. His tall, confident posture didn't hold the same weight as it used to. That would have to be one of the first things he remedied when the interest in his reappearance died down.
