Creamkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Creamkit took in a deep breath as he scampered a few paw-lengths away from Blackbear, trying to be brave. He was six moons old - and while it didn't mean that this was his ceremony...Well, he was trying to be brave for every one that was called just so he would be prepared. Sure, it made him feel a little silly the last few times but sooner or later, he would be right!

...He couldn't deny the hesitation within thought - Blackbear had explained much about being an apprentice. He would get a mentor from Birdchaser that would take over his training - and it wouldn't be his mom because she had an apprentice of her own. He...He would have to get used to not having her around an-and he was trying! But it was still...It was still a terrifying thought that he would have to spend even less time with her when she made him feel so safe.

His ears slicked back a little but he tried to sit tall as he waited for the deputy to continue, steadying himself to be prepared if his name was called. He...He could do this!

Creamkit took in a deep breath as his name was called, dutifully inching forward as the deputy went on. Creampaw. He...He was Creampaw now. He knew it was coming, but it was still weird to think about - then his ears perked as his mentor was named. Astershine? He...He didn't know Astershine personally. He frowned softly, heart beating fast at that. Sure, he had only met a few SkyClan cats - some in the company of his mom, very few by himself but there was a worry that it was somebody he didn't know that well.

But...He had to be brave. He could be brave, for his momma's sake. He turned his head, scanning the clearing for the warrior - finally locating the mostly white tom. With a big exhale, he pushed himself to his paws and approached, trying to ignore the nerves rising in his chest. "I-I'll do my best!" he managed as he leaned up to touch noses with his mentor.

As usual during clan meetings, Astershine's attention ended up elsewhere, at least while the clan was still staying in Fourtrees. His pale gaze drifted off, but snapped back to Birdchaser within heartbeats. "Hm?" The tom's attention returned at the mention of his name and, just like his warrior ceremony, he had no idea what was going on. Rats, he would need to try harder to pay attention. From the sounds of an apprentice's name being muttered around him, though, he assumed that this was an apprentice ceremony. Surely not his own, right? Standing up, he began to walk forward as if it were his own ceremony before meeting an apprentice near the front of the crowd. Oh. Yeah, this was Creampaw's ceremony. That made far more sense. What didn't make sense to Astershine, though was getting an apprentice. Becoming a mentor? This early into warriorhood? He quickly put his worries to rest with the reassuring thought that Birdchaser knew what she was doing. He wouldn't be selected to be a mentor if he wasn't fitting.

Bending over, Astershine touched his nose to Creampaw's. "I'm sure you will." That seemed like something a mentor would say.
