The World We Never Knew [C]

Darkspirit roused himself a bit earlier than normal that morning. An apprentice... Stars what was he supposed to do now? He crept to the apprentice den, not wanting anyone else to wake up just yet. His mismatched eyes pick out out Pinepaw immediately and he gently shook his apprentice awake. "I'm going to teach you to hunt. Let's move." He whispered softly before he stepped outside to wait. His heart was pounding. Who knew being responsible for a younger clan member would give him anxiety. He never thought he'd care, but the fact that he did made everything worse. He wanted to do a good job. He wanted Pinepaw to be successful.

He took a breath and straightened himself up, looking taller and stronger, instead of his broody hunched over self. His own mentor had done very little with him, not seeming to have cared about his success. Darkspirit had almost been excluded from Thunderclan aside from his siblings... now he suddenly had an apprentice? Why?
