Today was a long time coming, although it had certainly been slowed by Rowanpaw's..... behavior. Still, he could only be held off being a warrior for so long. His training itself had been going just fine. It was about time that she took him to meet StarClan.
Gathering up her traveling herbs, she made her way to the apprentice den, hesitating only slightly. She wasn't fully sure she wanted to leave Poppyshine, but the deputy was asleep right now. And she would want to see her son grow to be a warrior. And that kept her paws going.
Rowanpaw had been enjoying the last stretches of daylight, resting comfortably in his nest before the rest of the Clan would eventually retire to theirs. He was curled into a little ball, feathery tail draped over his nose. He was near to drifting off when paws stirred near the mouth of his den, and the familiar voice of his aunt brought his head upwards. He blinked at her a little blearily, but quickly perked up at her question. "Oh yes, quite! I have been ready for quite some time now," he mewed easily, pushing himself to sit upright. He gave the herbs she brought with her a curious sniff, and though he wasted no time swallowing them, he also wasted no time spitting over the taste. Shaking his head, Rowanpaw huffed out a few curses and hoped quietly the bitterness would clear. Giving his chest a few quick licks to help, he pushed himself to stand completely, and brushed past Dovesight to exit the den.
Though he didn't know exactly how far Highstones was, it seemed they would have quite the walk ahead of them, with some nebulous ancestor lying in wait for him. Tail flicking, he turned back towards Dovesight, offering her a warm smile. It was the most genuine his smile had been in weeks, likely. "We haven't got all evening, Aunt. I do not care to follow in other's pawsteps, but as I have not been to Highstones myself," Rowanpaw ducked his head just briefly in a nod, "I shall allow you to lead the way. Shall we go?"
