A New Day [c]

Crimsonpaw followed his mentor out of camp. He was nervous as he waked behind Comfreyheart, unsure of what to expect from this training session. The fallen leaves crunched under his paws as they walked, more drifting down as the wind blew gently. Occasionally a leaf or two would get caught on his claws, and he'd have to take a moment to unstick them. Despite the inconveniences that came from waking on ground littered with small objects that easily became stuck to his claws, here was no doubting the beauty of the forest.

Crimsonpaw startled back to attention as Comfreyheart began speaking to him. As she prompted him, he tried to focus on what he could smell. There was so much to take in! He closed his eyes in an attempt to concentrate better. "I-I smell a lot of things," Crimsonpaw said. He knew he could smell some sort of prey nearby, but he couldn't remember what type it was. It wasn't a squirrel or a mouse... What else was there? It definitely wasn't one he'd ever smelled in Twolegplace. He opened his eyes. "I th-think I can smell some kind of prey up ahead?" he said, "but I don't know what it is."

Oh, they're called rabbits! Crimsonpaw watched as Comfreyheart showed him the easiest way for him to get to  the prey. He did have a few more questions, but he didn't want to be a bother. If he was going to be a ThunderClan warrior, he had to be able to do some things on his own. I think I can figure it out, she said it was about speed... He thought for a moment before attempting to go the way she had pointed out. He treaded lightly, trying to both be silent and keep leaves out of his claws. Crimsonpaw got as close as he could to the grazing rabbits. Is this close enough? I hope this is close enough! He sprang out of his hiding place at the rabbits, running as fast as he could.

The rabbits scattered, but Crimsonpaw managed to follow one closely. After chasing it for a split second, he managed to pounce on it. The rabbit put up a good fight, but once he got his claws in it, it couldn't escape. He leaned down to try and finish the rabbit, but got kicked in the face with a flailing leg. Trying again, he managed to successfully grab it's neck in his teeth. It was over, and the rabbit fell still. Crimsonpaw looked at the rabbit in disbelief for a moment. He... He had actually done it! "Comfreyheart! Comfreyheart, I caught it!"

Crimsonpaw attempted to catch a rabbit, and was successful! He lost 3 sp.

Confreyheart's praise brought a warm feeling to Crimsonpaw's cheeks. He'd never really been praised for anything before. Probably because he'd never done anything worthy of praise before joining ThunderClan. "Th-thankyou!" He stammered. "And, uh, yes, I'd love to hunt some more!" It was nice to know he was good at something. He'd never been trained for battle, but it was comforting to know that even if he was no good at it, he could still help ThunderClan. Crimsonpaw wanted to be able to repay them for all they'd done for him. "What should I do with this rabbit?" He asked.
