The S Team!

Swiftheart was always a very extraverted and happy cat. She loved meeting new friends and hanging out and speaking with others. She was almost always in a good mood and today was no exception. She was very kind hearted and easy going.

Trotting out of the warriors den with lots of energy in her stride she stretched a little with a yawn and glanced around for a possible hunting partner, or just someone to talk with in general.

Her blue eyes scanned around until they spotted Sablepaw! He was her brothers apprentice. She eagerly bounded over to him with an almost kit level of energy. "hello, and good morning!" she mewed happily with a smile.

"Do you wanna go hunt or ermmm anything else?" she offered tilting her head to the side curiously.

"What is training with my brother like? Is he being nice? Teaching you lots? she asked with a grin, her lots of questions were quite usual for her as she always liked checking up on others even though sometimes in a bit of an overwhelming way.

"We could go hunting if you want... or if you would rather you could help me find a fox for when I take on my challenge of fighting a predator. We wouldnt fight it today... just sorta scout out where it is around and also to warn patrols of that area and such she offered.

Sablepaw had allowed himself a rare rest day, but doing nothing all day was more boring than he had anticipated. The highlight of his day so far had been the dead bug sitting in front of him. With nothing better to do, he stared at it, poking the insect periodically in case it had any life left in it. Sablepaw turned to the warrior that had approached him, he remembered this cat, if only faintly. "Uh, Swiftheart, right?" Her constant barrage of questions had him backing away slightly. "Wait, brother? Uh, Nightstar's doing well, now." Stars, this cat never stopped with the questions, did she? Sablepaw was almost starting to feel sorry for Nightstar at this point. The apprentice opened his mouth to protest, but a quick glance at the bug had him thinking twice about that decision. With a short sight, he nodded to the warrior. "Let's go find a fox, then."

Swiftheart purred with a firendly nod, "well if you want to that is she quickly and more quietly added on hearing his little sigh.

Had she been too overbearing? She hoped not.

She shrugged and slowly started heading out figuring he could join or not if he didnt feel like it.

Hmm she wondered if she would be able to take on a fox, it had been awhile since the ast time she fought one, during that battle, she Nightstar (back then Nightstalker) and Ratrunner had fought foxes and they had lost pretty bad, if it weren't for the older warriors back them saving them it would have been pretty bad, facing a fox now would show herself that she had grown as a warrior and could hold her own... Maybe it would show Nightstar that too she hoped.

She led the way out of camp and began scenting around for any signs of them. Ever since the territory had been abandon during the flood it was much more common to find traces of the predators, perhaps this was why her brother had the idea of hunting a predator as a milestone for being a warrior. She smelled that one had been here somewhat recently and raised an eyebrow at the apprentice

"hmm ya smell that? its what we are looking for

Sablepaw followed Swiftheart through his territory, keeping his attention focused on his surroundings. His first time doing this hadn't ended well, conversation distracting him from sounds and smells of a predator. He wouldn't be so careless this time around, especially since he didn't know the cat that accompanied him. With Leopardsun it had been different, he knew that she was capable enough to take on a predator if the situation called for it, and maybe that was why he had been so lax in the first place, but Sablepaw had no clue how capable Swiftheart was. She may be Nightstar's sister, but that didn't mean his prowess in combat existed in her. The apprentice gave a curt nod to Swiftheart, checking behind them frequently for any would be attackers. "How far out do you think it is?"

Swiftheart shrugged at his question. "It's ... still a ways out that way" her tail pointed towards the high pines.

"Hard to say exactly but I know where it is for next time. But I dont really want to put you into a fight with a fox. Remember, this was just to scout it out for now.... I dont think my brother would be happy if his apprentice got attacked by a fox under my watch." she purred looking out in the direction the scent trail led.

"Come on lets get you back to camp. Ill take a warrior with me when I go to do my test of fighting it for real"

(ohh you could have sable not listen and run off towards it if you want? or we can go back to camp... its up to sable XD)

"It's a scouting mission, so let's scout it out properly." Sablepaw grinned as he set off toward the scent. She was underestimating him, just like all the other warriors in camp. She was blowing him off just because he was an apprentice, but that hadn't stopped him from taking down a porcupine, with Leopardsun's help of course. A fox would be easy to handle with the two of them, if it came to that. He wasn't about to start a fight with a predator over his ego, but if that predator engaged, what else could he do. Taking a look over his shoulder, Sablepaw called out to Swiftheart. "Come on, Nightstar won't be happy if you left me alone with a fox either." Turning back to the direction of the scent trail, Sablepaw continued on his way, not waiting for a response from Swiftheart.

Swiftheart panicked a bit as the apprentice disobeyed and boldly took off in the direction of the fox scent.

"Sable!" she whisper yelled as she glanced around nervously for danger. She was sure that she could take on a fox and hold her own but was worried about Sable getting in over his head. She would do whatever it took to protect her clanmate.

She darted after him as the scent of the predator grew stronger.

"... ok fine. We can take it together but if I tell you to run, I want you to and get back to camp. she agreed with a sigh as she looked around for the signs of trouble.

She was not super thrilled about this plan but she was confident enough that she could take a fox on even if she was alone, having Sable help her she was sure they could do it. She would just have to make sure the fox didnt hurt him at all. She would never want to explain to her littermate and older brother how she had let his apprentice get so hurt by a fox

Take it on together? While he hadn't cared enough to start the fight, Swiftheart was practically giving him permission at this point. "Yeah, I'll run back to camp if you tell me to." He wouldn't, of course. Just like he hadn't when Leopardsun told him to. If she didn't believe they could take a fox down, then he would just have to prove her wrong. It wasn't long before he spotted the fox, dropping into a low crouch as it scanned the horizon, its back turned to them. Sablepaw stalked forward silently, keeping a careful watch on the beast in front of him. Just as he was nearing a striking range, the fox turned toward him, letting out a surprised yelp before charging toward Sablepaw. Without much time to think about his plan of attack, the apprentice leaped over the beast, landing on its back.

Sablepaw used Leap and Hold on the fox, Dealing 6 HP and costing 15 SP

Swiftheart kept close to the apprentice. It would be a good time to observe what all he had learned from her brother.

Very quickly he had the fox in a very nice pin. She nodded, not bad at all!

She used their numbers advantage and attacked the foxes exposed flank from the side.

She quickly clawed the fox up and then bit at its sides.

Swiftheart uses snap for 10 dmg (+1) passive ability active. and 7 sp

The fox was completly caught off garud and it had two cats attacking it. It was pinned and couldnt escape

The fox beneath him seemed to grow agitated the longer he was trapped beneath Sablepaw. It started to squirm violently beneath him, surprising the apprentice as it found its way out of his grasp. Maybe being the first to attack wasn't a good idea, he was the first cat that the fox chose to attack as it freed itself. The fox barreled into Sablepaw, biting at his throat as it did. A mix of fear and adrenaline flooded his body, giving him the energy to narrowly dodge the fox's bite. If the fox had made contact with him there, would it have been fatal? The thought was a scary one, but all he had to do was avoid the thing while Swiftheart took it down.

Swiftheart was nervous at how close Sablepaw had been to almost being snapped just then. The apprentice moved out of the way just in time. She hissed again at the fox to try and distract it away from the apprentice and raked her claws along its flank when the fox overcommitted to attacking her patrol partner.

A searing pain ran down it's flank, and the fox whirled around to meet the cat that had attacked. This was the second time it tried to attack, did the thing not know how to wait its turn? Giving up on the smaller cat, the fox lunged towards Swiftheart with sharp teeth, snapping at the senior warrior. As soon at the predator had turned its back on Sablepaw, the apprentice used the opportunity to take a quick slash at the fox.

(Sorry for the long delay... My muse decided to fall off a cliff very unexpectidly and then the holidays kept me busy for awhile... I think im starting to get back into things now tho :)

Swiftheart hissed as the fox bit at her.  It hurt alot but she was gonna be fine.  She dodged away readjusting the distance between self and the predator.  With a quick fake she made the fox cover up but then she quickly lashed out on the opposite side delivering a strike to the side of the foxes head.  With claws raking across the monsters face she dug into it, this fox would not hurt the Sablepaw.

Stay careful Sablepaw, dont let it get a grab on you or it will fling you around
