Lightpaw's Warrior Ceremony.

Nightstar was happy to see that some of the older apprentices were finally becoming warriors. Along with Honeylight, Lightpaw was one of the more senior apprentices, so it was a great night to finally meet another milestone in their lives. The young leader leaped onto the jagged rock, the motions slowly starting to feel natural to him, though he definitely wasn't there yet. "All cats old enough to silently stalk in the shadows, gather in the shadow of Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" He called, looking for the young she-cat in question.

Lightpaw was just itching to be a warrior already. She was the oldest apprentice by quite a bit, and it was getting embarrassing. Thus, when she heard Nightstar’s call, her ears shot up and she darted out of the apprentice den, where she’d been re-lining her nest. Of course this might not be her ceremony, but hey, a cat can hope! Making eager eye contact with Nightstar, the silver tabby sat in the center of camp. She hurriedly gave her chest fur a lick and pulled a stray twig out from behind her ear.

Sablepaw followed his sister out of the apprentice's den. Her excitement was a little odd to him, it was just another clan meeting. Even he didn't get too excited over those, despite needing to be present at each one. He sat a respectable distance from Lightpaw, waiting for the meeting to start.

"ShadowClan! I've summoned you here today to witness the naming of a new warrior. Lightpaw, please step forward." The tom sat silently as the apprentice did so. "I call upon all those present and watching to gaze upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of our noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Lightpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Nightstar meowed, a small smile quirking at his maw as he saw how absolutely thrilled the apprentice was. That was definitely good to see.

Lightpaw’s heart pounded in her chest. The silver cat listened closely to her leader’s words. Sure, they were always the same, but she wanted to commit her ceremony to memory. Attempting to adjust her posture to look more dignified, Lightpaw returned Nightstar’s smile. “I do,” she mewed. The two most important words of her life.

"Then it is my honor to name you a warrior before all witnesses present. Lightpaw, from this day forward you will be known as Lighttail. ShadowClan honors your Resilience and kindness, and we are proud to welcome you as a warrior in our ranks." Nightstar leaped from his position on the jagged rock, landing squarely in front of Lighttail, he then stepped forwards and pressed his nose to her forehead. "You will be sitting vigil tonight, speak with your family, and then take your spot at the camp entrance to begin. Congratulations, Lighttail." Nightstar stepped away to allow the new warrior to be welcomed amongst Shadowclan as Lighttail.
