We Are Family (Snowfoot fam hunt)

Sablepaw narrowed his eyes as he watched Burnpaw. He knew exactly what the other apprentice was doing wrong, the same thing he had done wrong during their spar. Sablepaw opened his mouth to say as much, but closed it as he registered his brother's silence. Maybe this wasn't the right moment to speak about it. At least, he thought so. Lightpaw on the other paw had already started directing Burnpaw once more. When she was finished with her explanation, Sablepaw added, "Your form did get better on that attempt. Your paw steps were light and well thought out, you just have to work on your pounce. Don't listen to Lightpaw about the tree thing though, leave climbing to the bird-brains across the border."

Burnpaw paw didn't feel like replying to either of his siblings. He was feeling ashamed of himself. Everybody had caught something except him. As he tried to watch Lightpaw's demonstration of a proper leap, He found himself distracted and hopeless. Burnpaw didn't care what he caught, he just wanted to show that he could hunt. How could he let something as mouse-brained as a mouse escape? His sister's words stung him. He didn't want to be known for being the best tree climber in the clan, he wanted to be known as the best warrior. He wanted to be known as the best hunter and fighter.
