Sleepycloud

The blessings of Greenleaf persisted. Despite the rapidly cooling air, food was still plenty, and the forest was not at war. Peace. Sleepycloud watched a singular cloud float, lazily trailing along to the gentle wind that swept through the camp. She felt the familiar tiredness in the back of her head but did her best to shake it off. Even if the borders were secure, and the fresh-kill pile was at the brim, the warrior could do something. Her green eyes left the cloud, and she scanned the rest of the camp. Brambles were patched along the edges, and elders told their stories in their den to young apprentices.

But, the tail of a familiar cat vanishing into the medicine cat den caught Sleepycloud's attention. Without thinking much, the she-cat strolled that way, peeking her head in to not disrupt the two cats in their work. "Hello? Dovesight?" She called, fighting back a yawn. If she didn't do something now, a nap would be in her future. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Dovesight had just padded into her den after checking up on the cats in the nursery. Woolywing and Yarrowblossom managed to find a surrogate to have their own kits together, and the medicine cat was determined to make sure the birth went as smoothly as possible. She was extremely anxious at the thought of another litter, especially when leaf-fall, and soon leaf-bare, was right around the corner. What if things took a turn for the worse? What if she lost a kit like with Forestfire's litter? Or worse, what if she lost the mother? Births always seemed to go wrong when they were done by her paws. She was scared.

A voice interrupted her thoughts, and she turned to see Sleepycloud poking her head through the entrance. She was about to ask what was wrong, because she didn't think Sleepycloud was on duty for helping her at the moment, and cats normally didn't pop in just to say hi to her. But then Sleepycloud did offer to help her. She looked to her herb store, thinking. It wasn't as dangerously low as it had been, thankfully, but it wasn't as full as she would like, either. And with that kitting on the horizon, she could definitely stock up for that.

"I might need to stock up on some borage and juniper, if you would like to help me gather those? And maybe some herbs to help with sickness too, leaf-bare isn't too far off, so it wouldn't hurt to prepare."

Sleepycloud honestly could not have come at a better time, she realized.

[color=#3DBBA6]"Borage and Juniper...?" Sleepycloud echoed, knowing the names but not what they looked like. The warrior trotted into the den, not feeling like she was intruding anymore. Green eyes scanned the dried herbs, uncertain as to what she was looking for. "What do they look like? And where do they normally grow?" In a way, she felt like a medicine cat apprentice. Though, she would never truly enjoy what Dovesight did. Don't get her wrong! Sleepycloud respected all that Dovesight has done. The effort went beyond anything that warriors do. And the herbs seemed interesting yet overwhelming. Though, the thought of seeing Mapleleaf every half-moon was the only side she lacked in seeing a downside. Oh, and maybe the lack of sleep. That would be a downside.

Dovesight had so much to do. Maybe she, too, needed a nap. Green eyes flashed with sudden determination. Sleepycloud would work hard to make sure Dovesight could rest.
