| The Greenleaf air was surprisingly cool that dawn- the first flash of the sun hidden away behind the thick leaves, and under a blanket of clouds. Lichenpaw couldn't help but give a smile for that fact- his long fur hadn't been of much use since the windy nights of Newleaf. It seemed most prey were also enjoying the reprieve, hardly any bounding amongst the undergrowth. Birds, though, seemed active as ever. Lively songs and chirps came above the apprentice's head; apparently resting in the canopy of oak. He frowned, green eyes glancing toward the leaves as he considered his choices. Lichenpaw wasn't the best climber, he knew that much, but the only prey were.. Well, in the 'Sky' part of SkyClan.
Noticing a squirrel skittering upon a low branch, Lichenpaw took his chance. The brown and white tabby bunched up his legs- and with one last check to make sure he'd make the height- leaped. The blow landed, back claws catching the tree limb, and front claw catching the squirrel. He gave a small wince at the action; the bite on his leg was healed, but brushing against the oak still aggravated the mostly-mended puncture. A eventual smile emerged, accompanied by a quiet thanks to StarClan. The bushy-tailed prey was obviously well-fed, and the hunt had been clean. Scooping the fresh-kill up, the apprentice returned to the far more comfortable ground.
