Making Do [Closed]

Dovesight was not learning as much as she would have liked, but she did know how to look at the herbs in her store to learn what all applied as herbs. And she was able to look around the territory to see which ones grew in what areas. So even if she could not put a name to them all, she at least knew where to find them.

While she did not yet feel quite ready to test her luck in other territories, there were herbs that she still needed from here as well. And she learned that these pools were the best place to find such herbs.

She did not come alone, though. Not only had Perchstar forbid her from traveling by herself after what happened to her predecessor, but she also had no intention of doing so. So she had three warriors join her on the excursion. Her sister, of course. She could never go without Kitespring. And there was also an older warrior by the name of Pineheart, as well as one of the newer ones, Brookstone. This was a large enough patrol that, at the very least, Dovesight felt relatively safe.

Having shown the three warriors the herbs they were looking for, she led them to the Broken Pools, before splitting off from the group, in search of whatever she could find.

However, Dovesight's searches led her to absolutely nothing. With a huff of frustration, she continued on. There had to be something, right? Right?

Roll the effect dice to see what herbs you can find. Here is the list of herbs for each roll.
1 will roll either a failure, or you could find a poison.
2-3 will roll either cobwebs, moss, bindweed, chamomile, dandelion, or daisy leaves.
4-5 will roll borage, dock, coltsfoot, or feverfew.
A 6 will roll either coneflower, marigold, or stinging nettle.

Dovesight rolled a 1, and found nothing.

Pineheart came along for the ride, excited to be there, and to have a little bit of stored knowledge of herbs with him. In the unlikely case the medicine cats were unavailable and he needed some herb knowledge, he might just be able to do something- Oh we're here already. Okay! He sniffed the area around him for something other than regular leaves and plants, and made his way through and around the place the cats were at. He smelled something other than the regular and walked towards it, is it a strange smelling plant, or an herb? He followed his nose to find the answer to that question.

He looked around the area, and realized it was likely a medicinal herb! "Hey! I think I found something!" And as it turns out, he did, in fact, find something. He had found some Bindweed! He looked around the plant, awaiting a response from the professional in the group.

Kitespring didn’t know much about herbs, but she wouldn’t refuse an opportunity to be there for her sister. After she struggled so much, she felt like her sister needed her more than most. She didn’t feel… the best, but she would push through. For Dovey.

Immediately noticing a patch of pretty yellow flowers in the distance, the she-cat wandered to where it was. Grabbing it by the roots, she picked it up and brought it back to the group. ”I found something,” she said. ”Do you think they’ll be useful, Dovey?”

Kitespring has found Coltsfoot.
