Despite whatever drama the other Clans had brewing between them, ThunderClan remained peaceful. There was little to disturb Dayquill, and his spirits had brightened considerably from moons before. Maybe that was just to do with the ever-warming weather, but whatever it was, he couldn't complain. And with the turning seasons meant more kits, and more kits meant more apprentices- apprentices that Mottlerose had granted to him. Bearpaw had been one of Starlingflare's kits, or at least he'd thought so... it wasn't all that important. What mattered was that she was his newest apprentice, which meant more training. Even though his apprentices had yet to become warriors, and he was still young enough to be learning himself, he found great joy in guiding the younger cats into the territory and showing them what he knew. Maybe he had picked that up from Stoatstar- a cat he felt like he could never read, but who'd always been interested in the youth of his Clan. A sigh left Dayquill as his paws lead him to the top of the hill the sloped down into his favorite corner of the territory.
"This is the Owl Tree, Bearpaw," he started slowly, glancing towards his charge before nodding towards the great tree that grew from the heart of the clearing. From the top of the rise, he could see the little pockets of water between the trees roots, and he watched as a squirrel shook water from its fur before disappearing up into the bows of the tree. "This is a good, quiet spot. I come here often. It's not so dangerous as Snakerocks- I thought about taking you there, but maybe next time. For now, we'll start here-- how about I show you some hunting? That's an easy enough way to start, what do you think?"

Bearpaw had always approached everything with enthusiasm. Perhaps a little too much at times, but she wasn't very self aware. She simply grinned as she took in the world with young, wide eyes. Everything seemed to fascinate her, and she seemed to be full of endless energy. Some found it refreshing, but others also found it to be somewhat annoying. Whatever the case, the young apprentice remained oblivious, and she continued to view the world with a deep fascination. "Wow." Exploring the territory left her uncharacteristically speechless. It was almost overwhelming, and she had an urge to discover every inch of the forest. Becoming an apprentice was even more exciting than she had thought it would be. She looked towards her mentor, nodding enthusiastically. "Yeah, hunting sounds awesome!"
Honestly, she would've been happy with any instruction. The mere idea of training had filled her dreams for six moons, and she was excited to see how it really was. And if the beginning of her apprenticeship is was any indicator, she was going to have a great time, no matter what they ended up doing.
