Iceheart had not spoken much with Frostedpaw. Frostedpaw was not much younger than her, but because of the Dark Forest invasion, they had progressed at very different rates. Iceheart had to look after her as they went out to patrol together, and the conversation was…lacking, to say the least. Neither of them were very talkative, it seemed.
Which was just as well, as an owl appeared to wreak havoc on them. It swooped down, knocking into Iceheart first, and Iceheart retaliated by grabbing onto its feathery tail and pulling hard. The owl dipped and crashed to the ground, momentarily stunned by the maneuver.
The own used Talon Strike, dealing 7 damage and costing 10 SP. Iceheart used Tail Yank, dealing 8 damage and costing 15 SP. The owl is stunned for 1 turn!

Frostedpaw glanced over at Iceheart in random intervals for a brief moment. Just another stupid task that Nightstalker insisted on sending her on. She was so tired of being an apprentice, but perhaps it was because of her adament distaste for doing what she was told to become a warrior. Being a warrior meant nothing more to her than freedom. As they walked, Frostedpaw spoke back to the whispering voices in her head silently. A very interesting conversation with herself took a turn when an owl shrieked from above, targeting Iceheart. With a reluctant sigh, she leapt onto the back of the owl and snapped down on its neck.
Frostedpaw used Snap on the owl, dealing 6 damage and using 7 stamina.
"When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire."

Iceheart was grateful for Frostedpaw’s quick involvement, and she gave the apprentice an affirming nod. She continued her own attack, clawing down the owl’s back while it hadn’t yet picked itself back up. They worked well together, and it was clear that the owl would not last for long.
Iceheart used Front Paw Strike on the owl, dealing 8 damage and costing 7 SP. The owl is no longer stunned!

Noticing Iceheart's nod, Frostedpaw continued. Maybe if they can bring back the owl, Nightstalker would leave her alone. With a growl, she dug her teeth deeper into the owl's neck, threashing her head side to side, tearing into its flesh. For the first time... Her blood was pumping. Excitement was filling her tummy.
Frostedpaw used Snap on the owl, dealing 6 damage and using 7 stamina.

The owl shrieked as Frostedpaw’s teeth dug into its neck. It lashed out with its talons at Iceheart, slashing a bit across old scars. Iceheart hissed and swiped with her claws across the front of the owl’s throat. It gave a dying squawk before its injuries overwhelm it and it grows limp.
Iceheart lets out a relieved breath and steps back. She gave Frostedpaw another nod and she sat down to lick her paw and rub at her cuts. “Well. A predator is not ideal for a patrol, but its feathers will do nicely for nests.”

Frostedpaw casually jumped off the owl's back, and walked around to the front to stand next to Iceheart and before the owl's head. The large apprentice mused for a few seconds, staring into the owl's eyes. "Hmm. I wonder if I can keep the head. Wouldn't that be a fun nest decoration." Her tone was mostly flat, but tinged with the slightest hint of amusement.

Iceheart finished licking off her wounds and mewed, “If it didn’t rot, sure. I think it would only stink up your nest.” She stretched and stood up. “We made quick work of it, though.” She lifted her gaze to look at Frostedpaw more properly. She thought back to who was her mentor… “Nightstalker is teaching you well, if you have instincts like that. It’s good to see.”
