Crickets Chirping

Swiftheart had been hanging around the nursery alot lately, getting it all fixed up and looking better.

She soon was going to have her own litter and was nervous and excited at the same time. During all her time there, she had the lucky opportunity to meet Cricketkit a young kitten new to shadowclan.

Swiftheart is a very nice, gently, caring she cat with a very outgoing and extraverted personality type. She talks alot and loves her clanmates alot too.


As she worked around the nursery she got to finally meet one of the kits there. A slightly larger kitten than most, with lavendar fur and orange eyes.

"Cricketkit?" she called to him as she finished up preparing the final nest in the nursery for the day.


"Would you like to play tag with me?" she asked the young kitten.

She loved getting to play with the kits and had played alot with honeykit (now honeypaw) even when she was already a warrior. She had never lost her kit - like energy and enthusiasim even as a more senior warrior.


She purred softly and friendly and a bit of a sly friendly grin came across her mouth as she gently touched her tail to Crickets forhead "You are it!" she squealed with a giggle and ran outside the nursery glancing over her shoulder seeing if he would chase her around. The two of them had gotten along pretty well during her time working to repair the nursery and she had learned that his parents had passed away. She felt so sorry for the little kit and subconsciously she felt a responsibility to look out for him

The nursery was a weird place for sure. Kittens of all ages and their parents hang out day by day, learning, and laughing. Some were grieving as well. Cricketkit was one of them even tho they felt a bit bleaker than any of their peers. It was so easy to disregard the pain of loss yet something stung in their chest the past few days. Their mommy, as well as Darkeye whom they only met twice but were told, was their dad... well they were gone. Strange feeling. But hey, life was still going forward and it didn't look back at all. It wasn't that Cricketkit didn't because all cats have to move on someday, right? And this kitten was 100% sure that meeting their parents was an option after their time comes. It just stayed somewhere in them like a small thorn in the paw pad.


"Swiftheart!" They smiled a bit and jumped up to their paws. Sometimes you gotta make the most of what you have. Actually no matter what you have that should be your thing. And this was something the orange-eyed kit was unintentionally doing. "Tag, tag, tag, tag!" A small cheer was just the thing to make them happier. The nice white she-cat was so kind and sweet as well. Her tail connected with their forehead for a split second and this was enough to get a giggle from the kitten.

"Rawr!" They waved their front paws and made a couple of jumps following her. It was playtime not sad time! "I'll catch you!" They meowed loudly.

Swiftheart grinned widely that she had been able to help the kitten be a little happier at least for now.
The loss of his parents at such a young age would be so hard for sure... Swiftheart had recently lost her mother and knew that pain... but both while still a kit? poor scrap of fur she thought to herself... well the least she could do was play with him and give him some attention and care for now.

She giggled and ran about with him as he chased her out of the nursery in their fun game of chase.

"eeek... no you will never get me!" she giggled a wide smile still on her face as he was right behind her.


She ran ahead of him a little bit and towards the camp wall... uh ohhh she made a mistake and now she was cornered with no way out. He could easily tag her now... "ahhh nooo!" she squeeled. This was so much fun. She loved playing with the kits of the nursery and she couldnt wait for her own kittens... although she was a little worried for it but she didnt let that bother her.


Cricketkit was closing in for sure and she couldnt really get away... trapped with the wall behind her. hmm he would catch her at this rate.

Running at the full speed that their paws could provide proved to be a tad bit difficult. After three or four heartbeats they stumbled yet quickly regained their speed.
"I will!" They giggled noticing how Swiftheart got herself cornered. After stretching out their paws one last time they just ran into her.
"T A G!" The lavender ball of fur jumped up and started wobbling as fast as they could manage after this unpredicted fall.
"NOW IT'S YOUR TURN! I will be the fastest warrior Shadowclan has ever seen!" Yes, that was exactly what the kitten needed. It was so easy to just live that way and they could let out some of the energy in more productive way than they would through sulking in their sadness.

(OOC: Sorry for taking so long I had my exams and I couldn't even sit down to write something short ;-;)

Swiftheart was so happy to see that the kitten chased after her and that they could get some time out of the nursery after all the hard things that had happened to them.

She promised herself quietly that she would look after this kit best she could.


As the kitten tagged her she squealed playfully "eeekk oh no you got me!" she purred.

She watched the fast little kit run off and she was supprised at how fast they really were even at such a young age. She glanced around and spotted a much easier unsuspecting target and instead giggled and ran over to the unsuspecting Marshmallow and tapped the black and white cats shoulder wiht her paw. With a giggle she purred happy to get her friend to play with them too now.

"Marshmallow's It!!!" she squealed playfully and ran over to go join Cricketkit again running from the newly it Marshmallow.

Swiftheart purred and ran after them. This was a great way for Cricketkit to meet their clanmates! She chased after the little kitten and managed to quickly catch up for them.


"Im gonna get you!" she laughed stomping her paws as well a bit right behind them to add to it all.


she touched her tail to the kits shoulder "Tag!"

Cricketkit is it!

She shuffled away from the kitten wondering what they would do next
