/There were kits to feed. There were elders to feed.

Injured cats to support, and everyone in between. Especially with their new leader, Owlshriek knew what had to be done. Following Hollyleaf's vigil, Owlshriek had been conducting plenty of physical training in order to make sure none of his injuries caused him lasting damage. Thankfully, their medicine cat was gifted. Owlshriek, despite the twinge of pain occasionally, was doing well otherwise. But, most importantly, the tom made an effort to hunt. Most of the time to get out of the camp, but also because plenty of the other warriors were still recovering.

He felt more driven than usual. Perhaps it was the silverpelt that slowly faded into the morning. Or it was the desire to be away from the two cats where he felt pain in his chest. No, it must be the morning doubled with the new sight he had never seen before. But, the tom would not let the sight stop him from catching prey. A mouse scurried away from his paws, not expecting a cat this early. The dark furred warrior smirked and lunged after it.

As the mouse leaped away, Owlshriek's smirk faded, his paws just missing the creature. Had he been a bit faster, it would have been a tasty mouthful for another cat. Fighting his annoyance, Owlshriek dropped low, tasting the air. The fresh morning air and the smell of another mouse brushed him. Being out this early gave him a feeling of clarity, and brings his mind to other places. A productive distraction from the agony in his chest.

With a few paw steps forward, a small vole ducked out from a shrub, wide black eyes staring away from Owl.
