Clearing the Mind [S]

Poppyshine

Poppyshine left for a hunting patrol early in the morning. She wanted a bit of time away to clear her head after everything that had happened. There were too many thoughts swirling around in her mind and she shook her head, trying to clear it away. Everything, all of the things she had to do and take care of and think about—they could wait for just a few hours.

She let out a slow breath and then opened her mouth to scent for any prey. She didn’t feel like dealing with the anxiety of the river at the moment, even if it would make hunting more difficult. A scent caught her attention and she turned towards it. After trying to clear her head, Poppyshine began to stalk forward and then, at the last moment, lunged forward at the prey. She latched on and snapped the neck quickly before she could even tell what prey she had stumbled upon.

Rabbit!

Poppyshine stared down with surprise at the rabbit that lay at her feet. Rabbits were rare around here and she guessed that one must have wandered in from WindClan territory. Regardless, she was grateful. A rare treat of rabbit would help uplift the clan. It was a sign of good things to come, surely.

Picking up the rabbit in her jaws, she started to head back. She couldn't avoid things forever, and it was better to face them now that she had a clearer mind.

Poppyshine attempted to catch prey. It was successful!
