Swiftheart sat in the camp clearing the dark forest cats were lurking all around camp around her and she closed her eyes sighing... she really did not like them ... what they had done to her clan... How mercilessly they had killed her brother loudnose and her crush Ratrunner. However, there was really nothing that she could do about it though.
Thinking about things... alot of warriors of shadowclan had been very hurt or killed at that gathering... They had lost Ratrunner and Loudnose as already mentioned but also too, Mistyfalcon and Batglow had been so injured that they had wounds bad enough to prevent them from continuing on warrior duties and now were promoted to elders. They were by far the most senior in the clan and the more she thought about it she was realizing that she and duskflight were becoming more and more into that role of being the next set of warriors with that amount of experience. This made her mind think of Webshadow, the last remaining warrior that was really from the high guard.
He had been so hurt during the gathering and had lost an eye even. She felt so sorry and bad for him. For some time she kept clear so that Frost and Web could have some much needed alone time after all that. They made for such a good pairing, she grinned thinking back to how she had talked him into maybe pursuing that relationship a while ago and was so happy to see that it had worked out... it had worked out much better for him than hers had... she glanced down at her belly with a sigh... yes she was sure now that Ratrunner's kits were on their way although for now, still a long ways off. It was complicate, she felt sad by this in that he would not be there next to her to help raise the family ... but at the same time it was happy in the sense that in some way, Ratrunner got to live on.
(it is still very early on in terms of where she is on that so if Webshadow is the very observant type he could pick up on it though, however if he is more of the not so focused on details type, he probably would not. You can decide how attentive to detail Webshadow is in character to determine if he would pick up on such things and would be cool to see that aspect of his character :) Just an idea though you can run with that however you would like really)
However she did want to visit with him and reassure and check up on him. Right now he probably was in pretty low sprits and being alone cooped up in the medicine den would not do anyone any good she figured. Frost had been pretty busy with deputy things of late and she wanted to make sure that he wouldnt get too lonely. She stopped by the fresh kill pile and picked out a nice looking lizard... hmm it was missing its tail though perhaps an apprentice had accidently first went for its tail and it had dethatched before they had caught it. Well still good, with a smile she took it toward the medicine den.
She "knocked" (or the cat equivelent of that I guess idk)... and after a little while she slowly entered. "heyaa webshadow!" she purred super friendlily her voice a bit muffled from carrying his lunch.
She set it down in front of him for him to enjoy. "I got you something... I thought you might be lonely" she purred adding on.
Ohh poor webshadow this was the first time she had seen him again up close after what had happened. The missing eye was hard to look at. It was not because she felt weird or discusted by it. Rather it was hard to look at becaue she felt so sorry for him and angry over what those dark forest cats had done.
He also had other miscolanious injuries as well all of which looked painful (Correct me if that is not the case and we can forget that line hehe :) )
However, true to her nature she didnt let that dampen her energy, sprits or talkativeness. "Well, not to worry... im sure Basilbloom will have you up on your paws again in no time" she said purring softly. She sat down next to him and thought of any topic she could talk about to get his mind off his current situation and onto nicer things.
"hmm... I hear that mom is having another litter soon" she said happily glancing at him (Murkystar is Swiftheart's mother).
She kept as straight a face as possible when saying this however not wanting to exactly reveal that she also was at some point in the future. Hmm perhaps he will notice anyways she wondered to herself... she didnt mind either way.
"hmm snakekit is very close to becoming an apprentice.. im sure he will keep whoever gets him as a mentor's paws full.
"oh and we have a new warrior! ... Ospreyquill was named just yesterday in fact... Hmm so maybe he already knew these two things but he had been pretty out of it ... it was possible he had been getting some much needed rest during those meeting calls.
the talkative she cat paused for a moment giving him a friendly grin. "hmm dad retired to elder... so did uncle bat" she added on in news (Mistyfalcon is her father).
hmm if Webshadow knew her father well at all he would probably wonder how such a quiet tom such as he had such a talkative daughter... she thought quietly.
"oh and I was out earlier today and you would not belive how wet our lands have gotten... ughhh its like we are part riverclan now" she said with a giggle purring with her usual energy and light heartedness.
"all the snow is melting off with the warmer weather and it is causing the marsh to be well... even marshier" she flicked her paw dramatically as if trying to flick the water off that was up so high as a result of this.
"Dont get me wrong I love the warmer weather though... and the prey is running much better now thankfully"
She stopped and glanced over at him... hmm she was probably talking his ear off at this rate ...
[ OOC: ( at least then his ear would match with his eye XD ... swiftheart is too sweet to think of such a thing... but im not) ]
She smiled at him friendily
"... so ... enough out of me... how are you??" she asked caringly wanting to know if there was anything she could do to make his recovery easier.

Basilbloom's den hadn't exactly been quiet, not since the Gathering. Warriors were in and out, bloodied wounds smeared with layers of grime from the shadows that had delivered them. Most of it, Webshadow hadn't been conscious for; that was almost a blessing in his eyes. He hadn't wanted to see his Clanmates coming and going, leaking blood and bemoaning their pain. He didn't care to see them hurt at all, but his reasons felt mildly more selfish than that– he wanted the den to be quiet, as many hours as possible. He was sick of feeling cooped up there, and the least he could do with was some peace. Or at the very least, a cat that would actually speak with him, instead of just shivering in a far corner of the den.
Unfurling himself from the nest he'd taken up residence in, the slim tabby lifted his head. Currently, there were no binds pressed to his face; something muttered about letting the wound breathe, then it would be covered again when ShadowClan settled down with the rising sun. He wasn't looking forward to it. He could do away with poultices and herbs forever; he was beyond sick of them. His muscles twitched with restlessness, a sore desperation to return to his life as a warrior needling at his chest.
Or maybe that growing feeling was just hunger, announced by the soft growl of his stomach. He was well enough to walk to the fresh-kill pile– maybe not without stumbling, or jumping when a cat approached from the wrong side, but he could make it there. The tom was about to push himself to stand when the sound of pawsteps just outside the den made his ears twitch, and a familiar white pelt ducked inside. Swiftheart brought with her a lizard, perfectly time, dropping it at his paws before settling down nearby. With a grateful nod, Webshadow drew it closer to him, gingerly taking a bite out of it. For moment that seemed like forever, the she-cat just looked at him, and he made every attempt he could to angle his head in such a way that she wouldn't have to look at the empty space where his eye once was; but it was only a moment, and she set herself to chattering away soon enough. It was easy, to quietly eat while she spoke. His whiskers twitched periodically as she relayed all the Clan news he'd missed to him, but he kept quiet until he felt he was done with his meal. Then, slowly, he sat upright, swaying softly against himself. His head bobbed as he focused on her.
"I appreciate the company, Swiftheart. And the lizard," he rumbled, voice hoarse with disuse. "I am doing... not particularly well. I do not have an eye, after all." Webshadow huffed, the closest sound he could make to laughter. It was meant to be funny; he hoped she didn't cringe at the remark. "But I could stand to do worse. I am hoping to return to my warrior duties soon. Relearning my senses is hard, admittedly; things have a habit of sneaking up on me. I would hate to be caught blind by a fox. But I will manage." He bobbed his head lower, resolute. He wanted to return to his nest beside Frostgaze, to be surrounded by the warmth of his denmates. For all the time he'd spent bemoaning how crowded it felt in there, he missed it dearly.
"It is sad, Batglow and Mistyfalcon. I did not speak to Batglow often, but he was a good warrior for many seasons. Your father, I have always considered a friend. They have both earned their retirement, and I hope continued life as an elder treats them well." He would miss patrols with Mistyfalcon; the dark tom was never unfriendly, but he shared Webshadow's preference for quiet. Entire hunts could be passed without a word shared. "I did not realize I missed so much. I am looking forward to Ospreyquill's life as a warrior, and to Snakekit's impending apprenticeship." Neither of them he knew very well, but growing ranks meant ShadowClan was faring well, in spite of their situation. Plus there was the talk of litters... "I hope your mother's kitting goes well. This will be her, what, third litter? Fourth, maybe? Either way. I am sure you are looking forward to more siblings. I imagine kits greatly enjoy listening to your chatter." A tired smile turned the corners of his maw upwards. Swiftheart's energy was boundless, and though he could hardly reciprocate, Webshadow appreciated it all the same. Looking her over briefly, he added, "I am sure we will have more kits arriving soon after. It is the perfect season for bringing new life to the Clan. I am looking forward to returning to the marsh– RiverClan-adjacent or not. It has been some time since I've seen new-leaf, and I'd like to see the last of the snow melt. I would also like to watch the new apprentices trip over themselves in the mud." Another huffed laugh. There was no malice in his words; it was all apart of the process of growing up. He had been in their paws once, gangly limbs caught up in the wettest parts of their territory. It was always fun, watching the younger cats learn. He thought to his own apprentices, especially–
A cloud passed his features, ears lowering. Turning himself to look at Swiftheart more precisely, Webshadow spoke again, voice lower, more somber: "I am... sorry, by the way. About Ratrunner's loss. I know you two were close. For the loss of your brother, as well." The dark tabby shook his narrow head, sighing. When that news had been relayed to him, he recoiled out of disbelief; Ratrunner had come so far, it was impossible to believe he had fallen at the Gathering. It was equally impossible to believe any of them had stood a chance, had the Dark Forest wanted to kill them. "They will hunt well in StarClan, once we find them again. I am sure of it. For now, though, they survive through us." He coughed, and looked down at the remains of his lizard. "Apologies for the dour conversation. Thank you again for sitting with me, Swiftheart. You did not have to."
Swiftheart sat next to him and kept quiet for his response wanting to hear how he was doing and such.
"I am doing... not particularly well. I do not have an eye, after all."
she glanced at him but realized quickly he meant it as a joke. She pawed at him playfully. "ohh really? ... I had not noticed" she giggled a little sarcastically but it was in a friendly manor. Not mean at all and she knew he would recognize it as such. "... not to worry you look handsome as ever" she purred, her spirits never dampened.
She let him continue not interrupting again until he was finished.
She did widen her eyes a little and gave a revealing grin as he mentioned more kits... ohhh he knew and she gave a little nod with a smile. She giggled along with him as he mentioned watching the apprentices slowly learning the layout of the land.
The mood shifted slightly when he shifted over to Loudnose and Ratrunner. She looked down at her paws and nodded. "Their loss has been ... hard for me" she admitted. Swiftheart was not one to guard her emotions at all, and often spoke freely about how she felt and showed it as well. "oh no worries about it... Its good to talk about " she responded to him changing the topic to dour.
She allowed for quiet a long silence actually. Just sitting next to him.... It wasn't that she particularly enjoyed silence like webshadow or mistyfalcon might, ... she was just lost in thought about Loudnose and Ratrunner.
She blinked a couple times grinning back over at him. "Of course... can't have you get too lonely... and if I dont talk your ear off who will?" she grinned winking at him clearly just joking.
