Specklekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Shrikestorm climbed to the top of the Tallrock, frowning at the amount of cats that were milling around. It felt like there were more Dark Forest cats than ever, swallowing up his own clan. He shook his head to clear it, knowing that line of thinking wasn't going to help his clan any. "All cats old enough to run the moors gather around the Tallrock for a clan meeting!"

Blazepaw was, as usual, quick to answer the call. She’d been checking the camp wall for any weaknesses but charged over to the Tallrock and skidded to a stop, much like her own ceremony.

A shadow sat among the gathering crowd, watching what was to take place. It was habit for her, to join these meetings as she had when she had lived, before her death in the very clearing they stood in now. While the shadows of her Clan was new to her, so to was her death at all. She merely thought these to be visions, perhaps of memory, or perhaps of what she could never see herself. Either way, she had accepted this as her eternal torment. Even still, she could not even fathom the four kits that followed her around to be real. She was counting the moments until her little ones were ripped from her paws yet again, as they had been taken from her so cruelly in life.

So Mistysky sat, and she watched as what she presumed to be a ceremony took place. In truth, she never even heard what was being said. Perhaps in this future, Shrikestorm had become leader, in which case she wouldn't know what this was. He could also be a deputy still, and then this would be an apprentice ceremony she assumed. She still did not know. She would only watch. That was forever all she could do after all.

Specklekit rushed out of the nursery with her fur sticking out in odd angles. fierce green eyes starred at the deputy. she noticed that Blazepaw had come to see her ceremony.

"Specklekit, you have reached the age of six moons. From now until you reach warriorhood, you will be known as Specklepaw. Hawkheart will be your mentor."

Specklepaw blinked in surprise. it all happened so fast, the only thing that came out of her mouth was a simple, "oh."

"I'M AN APPRENTICE!" she screeched suddenly as the situation finally sunk in.

Blazepaw watched Specklepaw’s reaction with a massive grin on her face. “Yes, you are! Aaaah congratulations!” She was literally jumping up and down, nearly as excited as Specklepaw. The kit had been through a lot.

"THANK YOU!!!" Specklepaw shrieked, too overcome with excitement to mind her volume. "We're going to kill foxes and badgers and hunt rabbits and Mistysky will be so proud of me and I'll get my warrior name- what do you think it'll be? I hope it's something cool like Specklesky or Specklesong!" she rambled, forgetting a few not-so-happy things she accidentally slipped in.
