Subject: Whisperkit's Apprentice Ceremony Wed 16 Mar 2022 - 11:09
As time passed, Shrikestorm found himself not bogged down like some of his clanmates by the presence of the intruders. He hated them: he hated them with his entire being. However, he knew they would eventually be defeated. They had defeated the Asylum when they took over, and SkyClan when they invaded. 'If only I had killed Dawnhawk when I had the chance,' he thought bitterly, but there was no time to dwell on that. He was already dead, and nothing was going to change that. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Tallrock for a clan meeting!"

Whisperkit had been alerted about their upcoming apprentice ceremony a few days before. It felt strange to be getting promoted in the midst of the terrible undead cat takeover, but Whisperkit was grateful nonetheless. It would give them and the clan something to focus on that wasn’t the awful Gathering or the violent strangers parading around their clan.
They moved out toward the Tallrock and looked up to Shrikstorm with wide, gleaming eyes.
The clan was growing in size, and Shrikestorm was proud of that. He smiled down at Whisperkit, noticing the gleam in their eyes. The Dark Forest hadn't taken that from them yet. "You have reached the age where you can become an apprentice. Until you become a warrior, your name will be Whisperpaw. Coyotegrin will be your mentor."
Batsong joined the meeting, a little late from a hunting patrol but she was able to hear most of it luckily. She purred happily at Whisperkits promotion.
Walking over to her she quietly congratulated them pride in her grin. "y-..you will do great I k-know it" she stammered

Whisperpaw’s heart swelled, as Shrikestorm announced their mentor. They looked over, excitedly, towards Coyotegrin. They had congratulated her on her new name not a few days before, and now she was going to be their mentor! They were tingling with more energy than they typically had as excitement filled them to the brim. They moved to Coyotegrin and looked up to her. “You’re my mentor,” they meowed in awe.
They looked up at Batsong and purred, pressing their head against Batsong's fur. Her words of encouragement warmed their heart. "I'll make you proud."
Coyotegrin had hardly finished her vigil when she had been made aware that she would mentor Whisperpaw. It made her swell with pride. Hardly a warrior and already trusted to guide the younger cats of WindClan. Plus, it was Whisperkit. She had practically taken on the mother role in her mind to the young cat. Now she can continue it, officially. Coyotegrin met Whisperpaw halfway. "We touch noses now, Whisperpaw." She touched noses with the new apprentice, then stood up straight. "I'll take you on a tour of the territory now, if you're up for it."
They touched noses and Whisperpaw’s heart swelled with pride. They were an apprentice and had earned a mentor. It was too good to be true. Whisperpaw nodded eagerly, excited at the prospect of finally getting to explore the WindClan territory outside of the camp. Their usual fatigue was momentarily forgotten, instead being too excited to even think about sitting still. “I would love to explore the territory. I’ll learn everything you’d like to teach me."
