Up we go- Minnowfin leaped up onto the boulder, addressing his clan yet again. "Let all cats of Thunderclan gather below Highrock for a clan meeting." A steady gaze surveyed the batch of kits exiting the nursery. One would become an apprentice today.

Daykit's head poked out of the nursery, and with more excitement than before, he shuffled over towards the Highrock. He recognized the deputy better, now– I even remember his name. "Minnowfin," he whispered, blue eyes glittering as he gazed up in wonder. One of his brothers had recently been apprenticed... would this be another ceremony?
A head poked out from the nursery, along with other clan cats nearing Highrock. Once everyone had settled, he continued. "Daykit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Daypaw. Your mentor will be Stoatstar." A smile perked up on his maw, seeing the excited kit reacting to the cheers of the clan.

"Me?!" The pale tom squeaked out, unbidden. Instantly, and without thinking, he leapt to his paws, a shudder running through him. "Thank you!" Daypaw yowled up to the deputy, recoiling swiftly after at the realization that that wasn't how he was supposed to respond. More daunting, his mind caught up to the mentor he'd been assigned, and he couldn't help but breathe out, "Stoatstar... wow," soft and full of reverence as he searched for the leader's pelt.
Comfreykit heard the call for a meeting, something that had been happening quite frequently. One by one her siblings were becoming apprentices. How exciting! Who's turn is it today? she asked herself while sitting down next to Daykit.
It turns out the brother she sat next to was the lucky duck. Comfreykit purred her congratulations, rubbing her soft, black head against his shoulder. "I can't believe you got Stoatstar! Are you excited?"
