Chasing Ghosts [Hollyshine]

No pawsteps followed her, and Beechfang spun around, fur lifting as she watched Hollyshine, surrounded. "Foxdung!" Beechfang spat. There were just too many rogues and they were outnumbered. But their intent had never been to engage with them. And now Hollyshine was surrounded. Everything in her screamed at her to lunge forward and attack, at least try and defend her niece.

It would be suicide. Beechfang wasn't stupid. And Skyclan would never know what had happened. They would be down two warriors... And Dawnhawk and his group would likely attack the clans again. Her claws dug into the snow with indecision. Fight or flee... Ensure they both died here or warn the clan?

Sickening, it was sickening. And Beechfang knew which choice she needed to make. That didn't make it easy, and it felt wrong. More wrong than anything.

"I'll be back for you. I'll bring the whole forest down on them." She vowed quietly. Not that Hollyshine could hear here, but Beechfang meant every word.

Beechfang turned, and fled. Her vision blurred... Just the cold wind stinging her eyes. Nothing more than that.

Aether let out a yowl as teeth clamped onto his tail, pulling him back. Did this cat really just do that?! Oh she was in for it now.

Getting to his paws and spinning around, Aether faced the tortoiseshell while regaining his balance. "It's rude to bite other cat's tails. You're lucky I want you to keep yours. Maybe I can take something else instead. You won't need your eyes when we're done, now, will you?" With a wicked grin, Aether darted forward, raking his claws down the she-cat's face. Teach her to keep her jaws off his tail!

Aether used Random Recall and Front Paw Strike, dealing 8 damage and costing 12 (7+5) stamina

Aoife wished that Aether would just stop talking. She'd learnt her lesson in the Shadowclan battle that wasting time on words whilst fighting was never worth it, and all the talk of skinning was distracting her. Even days later, she didn't know if she'd ever be able to shake the image of her parents wearing warriors' skins. It just didn't seem necessary to scare the Skyclanner when she was already pretty much defeated. Almost out of pity, she brought a paw crashing across the she-cat's head, claws unsheathed, knowing it would be the final blow. There was no chance she could take on all three of them, especially now her companion had scurried home.
