Soft Clouds in the Morning Sky (c)

Cherrycloud awoke and let out a yawn. She stretched and smoothed down her ruffled fur. The dawn light washed over the clearing as she got up and walked over to the apprentice's den. It was time to start Softpaw's training. She ducked into the den and gave her apprentice a nudge. "Softpaw, wake up. It's time to begin training," She meowed to him. Cherrycloud then left the den and waited at the exit of camp for him.

Softpaw slowly woke up blinking the sleep away from his eyes as his mentor awoke him.

oh yay! I cant wait he purred eagerly he quickly gave his fluffy fur a quick groom getting it to stay down and followed his mentor full of excitement.

He caught up to her and nodded . What will I be learning today? he asked excited and eager to start his lesson.

I want to help thunderclan the best I can! he added on full of energy.

Cherrycloud was glad for the young tom's enthusiasm. It was good to have eager apprentices, since they would work hard to provide for their Clan. She flicked her tail to signal for them to leave and meowed to Softpaw, "We'll start with battle training."

The soft crunching of snow underfoot sounded as they traveled towards the training hollow. Once they had reached the shallow dip in the Earth, she turned to her apprentice. "Let's start with a front paw blow. You strike forward with your paw to hit you opponent with sheathed claws," She meowed. Cherrycloud demonstrated a blow and turned back to watch Softpaw's attempt. "Your turn now."

Softpaw watched very carefully as Cherrycloud demonstrated the move, he wanted to make sure he did this exactly right. He wanted to become a really good fighter so that he could help Thunderclan take their land back from the greedy Riverclan cats, that is how he saw it anyways.

Softpaw copied the motion but had his claws out he grinned mischievously imagining digging his claws into a Riverclan cat hmm perhaps Perchfall if he ever saw her again. He kept practicing the move over and over again wanting to get it perfect. He swiped at the air in front of him and glanced up at his mentor smiling

He liked fighting practice so far, this was really fun.

"How am I doing?" he asked grinning
"Not bad for a beginner huh??" he added puffing his chest out proudly. He couldnt wait to become a warrior and show those Riverclan cats what Thunderclan was made of.

Softpaw used Front Paw Strike as practice dealing 0 damage because its just practice swiping at air and costing 7 sp

Cherrycloud watched with satisfaction as Softpaw practiced the battle move. He was doing well. "You're going to make a fine warrior, Softpaw. Let's move on to a snap," she meowed, "Charge toward your enemy and bite down hard." She jumped forward and pretended to bite at an enemy. After doing that, she stepped backward to let her apprentice try.

Softpaw watched his mentor carefully he wanted to get this right so he could help Thundercalnt he best he could. He couldnt wait to try these moves out against Riverclan.

He leapt forward and chomped down on the pretend foes. Just as Cherrycloud had done.

Purring satisfied he tilted his head and looked at her curiously "Cherrycloud?" he meowed

"Have you ever fought Riverclan before?" he asked her.
