| As Foxfire stepped into the crisp, leaf-bare air, he let out a tired yawn as he paused to stretch out his front paws, arching his back before he took a step forward and followed up by giving his back legs a long-needed stretch. The elder gave his body a shake, fur fluffing up to try to provide some semblance of protection against the bitter chill that hung in the air. The snow was unpleasant - he had never taken well to the colder seasons. His thin fur provided no real warmth and without Flowerthorn... His whiskers twitched, gaze falling for a few seconds before he pressed forward. No, he was doing better - he wasn't going to allow himself to be swallowed by her loss. There was some comfort in that the nursery managed to keep its heat somewhat - something direly important when it came to kits surviving when they couldn't keep their own temperatures in check. Honestly, Foxfire was a little sad to be stepping out of the den for a while but his legs were starting to cramp from being in there for so long - and he was getting close to going stir crazy, to be honest. A little walk would do him good, even if he despised the cold. At least the snow was pretty, the way the sunlight filtered through the bare branches and caused it to glimmer like stars in the night. With a huff, he started to trudge his way towards the entrance of the camp, grumbling whenever his paws would sink into the snow and he would have to take some effort to free them to continue his trek.
With every pawstep, he was starting to regret his choice but was too stubborn to turn back now.
He was going to have his walk! ______________________________________ Acornstar ♀ ~ Badgermask ♀ ~ Creamsky ♂ ~ Duckfeather ⚧ ~ Eveningmoon ♀ ~ Flurryshade ♂ (Not pictured) TC T5 Leader (70/200) ~ SC T5 Warrior (70/200) ~ SkC T5 Warrior (70/200) ~ RC T2 Warrior (40/110) ~ WC T2 Warrior (40/110) ~ TC T1 Warrior (30/80)Rosybrown (Forest)/ Sandybrown (Feral) ~ Indigo ~ Tan ~ Olive ~ Icyblue ~ Slategray |

| Yewpaw certainly had more energy than his father, even if it only showed in his gait and not the expression on his face. He'd been clearing the largest snowdrifts off various dens for most of today. From inside the apprentice's den the roof had begun to cave in precipitously, causing the young tom a bit of anxiety, wondering if one day he'd be woken up flattened by snow. Once he'd looked at his den's roof, he quickly noticed how the snow piled high on all the others too. This would be his self-imposed task for the day. Not that he realized how heavy snow could be, especially after it'd been sitting undisturbed for so long. And so, still carefully sweeping from precarious perches, he spotted Foxfire trudging through the snow on a path out of camp. Was he going somewhere?
It was about time the apprentice stopped, anyhow. He was having aches in muscles he didn't even know he had. He hopped down to the forest floor - briefly getting himself stuck in his own pile of discarded roof snow - and came to walk side-by-side with the old tom. "Mind if I come with you, Foxfire?" Better to not say they were leaving, or Bloodstar would stick a warrior on them. They'd be lucky if it was Crickethop. ______________________________________ |
