The molly needed a break from the camp she and her family called home, despite her job being centred around the protection of it. Her siblings had it covered no doubt, and it wasn't like there was anyone super interested in attacking them lately- with the size of their group, you'd have to be particularly mouse-brained to try sneak your way in or launch an attack, and she felt stifled and excessively bored being confined to it; so Achlys had left. Her paws trod softly on snowy grounds, the terrain eventually giving way to pine forests and the smell of clan cats, and somewhere buried beneath that was the potential scent of prey, but she was definitely lacking in the expertise some of her hunter siblings had that would allow her to track it easily. Instead the calico walked cautiously in further, breaking past the scent-marked line that signified ShadowClan's territory, hoping luck was on her side and no cats would be patrolling.

'Invasion Dice' :

She inhaled deeply, the sharp smell of pine somehow clear above the snow, but the molly was pleasantly surprised to find a lack of fresh cat-scent in the area, wondering if she had just gotten lucky with the rotation of patrols - or if clan cats were really as lazy and foolish as her father so claimed them to be, choosing not to defend their borders. Although, for a moment she wondered if she should be grateful for it; as now she had the ability to hunt on clan territory with hopefully minimal interruption and the calico fully intended on taking advantage of it.

Achlys moved carefully on the icy ground, slightly glad for the way the pine needles seemed to absorb moisture from the snow as it was less dense and cold on her pawpads, and impeded her steps a little less than the moor seemed to. Carefully looking around, a flash of ginger caught her vision, and she noticed a scrawny squirrel darting around, a purr in her throat as she thought about digging her teeth into it. Admittedly this wouldn't be an easy catch, on unfamiliar territory and her not being particularly well trained in hunting, but she was committed. She continued a silent prowl forward, carefully watching her prey to make sure it wasn't alerted to her presence, grateful for the wind blowing its scent toward her and not the opposite.

Within a few heartbeats she was within pouncing distance, and the squirrel didn't stand a chance as she sunk her teeth into it, killing it quickly and swiftly, savouring the warm taste on her tongue and wanting nothing more than to dig in further, but she was curious to see if she could catch anything else in the area before she settled on what she had caught. Maybe she could bring back something for Aofie and Aphrodite, a little present for ditching them on guard duty to seek out fun.

With hesitance she packed a little bit of snow atop the squirrel, a little heartbroken that when she returned it would be cold, but she knew the longer she stopped to eat, the less likely she was to catch anything else. Achlys walked a little further along the trail, ears pricked and eyes surveying the landscape around her carefully, noticing the light slowly slipping away and giving way to night, the terrain darkening significantly faster due to the trees reaching high in the sky. She sighed, before noticing a mouse pressed tightly to the roots of a tree, digging at what exposed ground there was.

Keeping her steps light, she made for it once more, wishing it was a little bigger.

Oh for the love of- intense fox-scent bathed her muzzle and made her fur stand on end, and the mouse was immediately forgotten as she saw a scarlet muzzle break past a line of dead shrubbery, and she swallowed hard, wishing desperately she could turn tail and run. It was taller than her, and scarred from past scraps with other animals, and it looked hungry. The molly was cursing herself hard now, and extra regretted leaving the squirrel, realising the fresh prey-scent is what caught the foxes attention and drew it towards her.

It pawed through the snow pile it was in easily, beginning to eat it, and she felt horrifically indignant and upset it had the audacity to steal the food she caught. Achlys bristled hard, and hissed loudly, tail lashing from side to side, deciding she had no choice but to attack it while it was occupied and she still stood an actual chance. She launched forward, throwing her weight against it with her forepaws, claws ripping through the dense fur and knocking over the distracted fox. Panting heavily, she stood back, attempting to regain her breath before it lunged at her.

Achlys used Jumping Strike, dealing 10 (7 base + 3 first move) damage and using 7 stamina.

The scent of freshly-killed prey lingered in the air, drawing it out of a nearby clearing where it had been hunting, and the predator lacked any caution around seeking out the prey and devouring it, taking minimal notice of the equally fresh smell of cat lingering in the air. It was too busy eating to hear the hiss of a calico molly, and surprise caught it heavily as it was suddenly bowled over onto the snow beneath, squirrel forgotten as blood dribbled from punctures along it's pelt. A growl rumbled deep in the fox's throat, and it stood, snapping at any part of Achlys' that it could reach, teeth meeting with her shoulder, biting down as hard as it could and shaking her, leaving her unable to move for a few moments as it threw her to the ground.

The Fox used Thrash, dealing 10 damage and using 15 stamina. Stunned Achlys for a turn.

The air was promptly knocked out of her lungs as her paws were lifted from the ground and she found herself being violently thrashed, the world going blurry as she was thrown to the ground with an audible thump. Achlys heaved for breath, her chest hurting as she tried to stand and failed, slumping back over in a miserable display of strength. I need to get out of here before I become it's next meal, the molly thought, swallowing hard as she attempted to regain her breath and strength.

Noticeable satisfaction gleamed in the predator's eyes as the cat struggled to stand, and for a second it contemplated leaving it be; before anger rose up at the way it had been assailed earlier, and the cat wouldn't be that hard to finish off- it couldn't even stand right now as it was. Baring it's teeth, the fox moved forward and bit down into Achlys' hindleg, blood dribbling from its chin and her letting out a pained yowl, scrabbling desperately to get away, kicking the fox with her other hindleg. It let go, watching blood soak through her light fur and onto the snow beneath.

The Fox used Iron Bite, dealing 17 damage and using 30 stamina. Achlys is no longer stunned.

Achlys felt nothing but a strong amount of regret that she had allowed herself to get into this situation, her irresponsible need for freedom landing her alone in enemy territory fighting a fox that would kill her without hesitation if given the chance. Almost as if it needed to prove her right, it bit down hard into her hindleg and she yowled in agony, kicking it in the face to get away, feeling less stunned but extremely tired as blood leaked out of her. "Okay, alright, fine, you win," the rogue hissed at the fox, ignoring the fact it couldn't understand her. Using what little strength she had left, she stood, swiping out at the fox's face with unsheathed claws, hoping to distract it as she bolted in the direction she had come from.
