Timbersun didn't particularly like training apprentices. Probably just because of his first apprentice, who was an absolute mousebrain and tail hole. This one, Hawkpaw, didn't seem like nuisance, yet. He didn't immediately rush out of camp on his own after his ceremony, so that was a good thing in his mind. He glanced back every once and awhile to see if he was keeping up. After a long moment of silence, he finally decided to break it. "So, how have you been doing? I didn't really get a chance to train you until now, so I'm just wondering if you're doing good or...?"
Finally reaching the flower field, he stopped. "Well, anyway, prey likes to hide underneath the flowers here... Even if there's no flowers blooming now, there's also a rabbit burrow nearby so hopefully we'll find... Something." He looked up at the clouded sky, it had been very cold this season, and Timbersun was pretty much used to it already. "Yeah, hunting is usually the worst part of being a warrior, you know you have to, though, you have to feed your clan somehow. It can get super boring, especially in this weather, but you'll get over it." He knew that it'll be unlikely he'd even see some prey today.
Just on that thought, he saw something out the corner of his eye. White rabbit ears pointing out of the snow? "Alright, watch closely, and try not to make a noise." He whispered to his apprentice, motioning to the rabbit. He dropped down into a crouch, one that he would be prepared to turn into a quick run if it saw- or heard- him. He focused on the rabbit, ears flicking forwards, keeping track of it's movements. He pushed some snow up onto his fur quietly, so as he moved closer, the rabbit wouldn't be able to see him that well. He was in the middle of a leap, when the rabbit saw him and started running. The snow was slowing him down quite a bit, he was just about to get it when it changed direction into a burrow. He reached his head inside, but at the sight at a claw coming at him, he pulled away as quick as he could.
Walking back to his apprentice, he tilted his head a little. "Oh well, everything feels 10 times harder than usual, hopefully you can catch something. Also, you do NOT want to be scratched by a rabbit, you have no idea what kinda dirt or snow they've hopped in. Anyway, go ahead." He was already feeling how much more exhausting hunting in the harsh season was. Snow was heavy, rabbits seemed faster, and predators were around every corner, he hadn't seen any just yet, but he would have to be careful.
Timbersun attempted to catch a rabbit and... Failed. -7 SP (Timbersun)
