Triple Dog Dare {open}

The Tallrock had been mocking Woollykit ever since his arrival in camp a few moons ago. As he and his siblings grew, so did his desire to climb to the top of the big jutting rock and call a clan meeting! If Daystar and Goldenfang could rally the clan, why couldn't he? Woollykit certainly had important things to say that all the clan should know. Like how those mice Timbersun had caught his littermates were the tastiest food he'd ever had. Or maybe how he imagined it would snow again soon, looking at the sky. Or perhaps he could ask the clan to play hide and seek! He bet that Daystar must be the greatest hider as she was clan leader. You had to be good at a lot of things to be in a position like that.

The sun sat low in the sky, and warmed the sandy clearing just a little. Snow still sat in drifts around the camp, groups of cats picking the warmest spots to gather and chat in the grass. He knew Hentooth would call himself and his brothers to bed soon, but Woollykit needed to climb the Tallrock first. He just had to. Warmed by his excitement, Woollykit bounced over to a circle of apprentices and older kits, talking under a large gorse bush about the best ways to carry eggs.

"I'm gonna climb the Tallrock!" The tom blurted, chest puffed out with pride. He paused for effect, and then continued his dastardly scheme. "And I'm gonna call a clan meeting!" Woollykit grinned wide and set his sights on the rock, then turned his brown gaze to each of his peers, whispering excitedly; "do you wanna come with?"

The fluffy kit wanted to climb up Tallrock.

Well, Daisypaw wasn't one to turn down this opportunity. As a kit, the idea had definitely entered her mind before. Weighing the consequences in her head, a determination slowly formed, almost as strong as the young tom's own. Of course, the pros and cons she had thought of were flawed and not fully thought through, but it didn't faze her one bit. This kit certainly had the guts to put the idea into action and admiration for him had been kindled to life, a small flame in her heart. Perhaps she'd be able to mentor him in the future? Stop thinking too far ahead.. she scolded herself. For now, she wanted to be friends with this kit. Decision made, she lowered her head, glancing around, acting vigilant and all.

Her blue eyes met the kit's. Grinning, she whispered back, "So... what's the plan, little accomplice?"

Swiftspirit had returned from patrolling, setting a thin, scrawny-looking hare on the fresh-kill pile. Even with the gorge, prey had become scarce, and with each clanmate she looked at it was apparent. They were all thinner, all tired, all cold.

Spotting Daisypaw, her apprentice, Swiftspirit padded over, offering the younger she-cat a small smile. A particularly mischievous-looking kit was with her... And Daisypaw herself looked alert, as if she were helping him with some sort of troublemaking. Swiftspirit's whiskers twitched in amusement at the idea of accidentally barging in on their fun.

"What are you two up to, hmm?" She legitimately hadn't heard the kit's proclamation earlier, but she knew troublemakers when she saw them. Better to interrupt them not before they'd gotten themselves into something they couldn't get out of.

Mistypaw herself was not fond of the idea of climbing the tall rock. Sure, as a kit, she had thought of it, but she was older now, arguably the oldest of this little group. Still, she wasn't going to stop those two fools. Let them have their fun, and Daisypaw was at least old enough to take care of Hentooth's stupid kit.

Of course, Swiftspirit had come, as any warrior would. Guess she had to cover for them. Casually flicking a paw over her ear, she spoke as nonchalantly as she could. "They're just gonna have a bit of fun. What harm can come of it? They're just kits, or hardly more than kits."

Woollykit's eyes lit up as Daisypaw joined him on his escapade. "Well... first we gotta sneak over to the base of the Tallrock where the leader sleeps... and then we climb up!" He was practically trembling with anticipation had Daisypaw and himself began their mission. They ducked behind a snowdrift to avoid prying eyes, until a warrior approached. Woollykit bit his lip and narrowed his eyes, quickly thinking of a different plan.

Swiftspirit was Daisypaw's mentor - if she caught them, they'd certainly get in a lot of trouble. The fuzzy tabby tom opened his mouth to explain the two, when another apprentice stepped in to cover their exit. Great job Mistypaw! He thought to himself, heart fluttering with excitement. With the distraction in place, the two younglings ran to their next cover, squeezing behind a gorse bush, their sprint to the Tallrock was clear now. "Are you ready Daisypaw?" He whispered to her, knowing that after this, they'd certainly be the best of friends.

Giving the kit a quick nod, she turned to face her mentor. Uhm.. gotta come up with something quick! Before she could come up with some mouse-brained explanation, Mistypaw spoke up. Daisypaw rolled her eyes. "I am not. A kit!" In truth, she really appreciated the backup, but she was unable to thank her, Woollykit already running for cover.

Whisked away by the little kit, she found herself dashing after him into a gorse bush. The next thing she knew, she was confirming with him that their plan was soon to be a go. "Ready if you are." was her confident reply. Excitement pulsed through her, muscles rippling in her pelt. Sure, the plan wasn't that well thought through, but... plans were overrated anyway. Peeking through the leaves, she glanced around. Turning back to face the kit, "Coast is clear." she reported, a gleam of comradery in her eyes.

"Hey!" Swiftspirit sputtered, "You can't- Get back here!" Oh, to be a kit with no responsibility or care in the world. She couldn't quite stifle her laughter at their antics, but as the only responsible adult she did have to try and keep them from getting hurt at the very least.

"Daisypaw! Woollykit!" Swiftspirit called, chasing after both the kit and the two apprentices. Mistypaw she didn't know well other than the fact she had a mouth in her... But Mistypaw wasn't her apprentice to deal with. Swiftspirit put on a burst of speed, long legs quickly eating up the distance between herself and the wayward youth of Windclan, placing herself deliberately between them and their apparent target of the tallrock. "Don't be mousebrains, Hentooth will have your tail if she finds out about this." Perhaps the mention of Woollykit's mother would scare some sense into him... If that didn't work, maybe she could distract him.
