Goldenfang nudged Orangepaw and whispered lowly about waiting by the camp entrance. She withdrew from the den under the gorse wall to wait as she had promised. Orangepaw hadn’t been trained yet, and that frustrated the deputy. The winds were cold and the freezing snows had made every ounce of effort necessary. The queen wouldn’t let a single apprentice be neglected if she had a say.
