Bloodstar knew leafbare was coming. His clan would need all the territory they could get for the availability of prey. He had nothing against Thunderclan, but sometimes conflict was forced. As a matter of fact, he actually liked Minkstar and owed Dovefrost for helping his daughter. Alas, hunger could push even the most civil of cats to savagery. Bloodstar sprayed the area to signal his claim. He dug his claws deep into the bark of the Great Oak, carving his signature into it as a warning to the other clan. He rubbed his face against the oak as well, further leaving his scent. The rest of his patrol could follow suit. "Nothing personal Minkstar..." He muttered as he left a final deep gouge in another tree's bark with his claws. There would be no mistaking the size of those claw marks for whom they belonged.
Skyclan has claimed the Fallen Oak. Sorry Thunderclan ;;

Beechface had accompanied the border patrol, using the walk to pick up what stubborn herbs still remained green and fresh. With leafbare approaching, they'd need everything they could get. Given their last conversation, Beechface was trying not to avoid Bloodstar as much, though she was counting the days in her head until things were finally official. For now, she was even in a good mood about herb gathering. She wouldn't have to do it for much longer, if the universe wasn't stars-bent on going sideways.
Setting aside a small cluster of chickweed, she marked a fallen branch as well. Since she was tagging along with the border patrol, might as well participate.

Slinking through the underbrush on the outskirts of the Fallen Oak, Spottedfrog did her due diligence to leave SkyClan's scent all over the place. She rubbed her cheek against the trunk of a tree, following it with her body and then turning to do the other side, too. It felt great, and it was technically helpful - win win. Glancing to the side, she spied Beechface poking through the foliage in search of herbs, and her ears slicked back. A low grumble of annoyance escaped her, and her claws slid into the dirt, but she turned away from her sister's path and circled around.
She took a running jump and scaled the fallen tree over Bloodstar's head, making sure to get her scent all over the top of it as she reached a relatively flat spot and immediately plopped over on to her side, spreading SkyClan's claim there, too.
