Loud Cicadas [Closed]

It wasn't an odd sight to see Cicadakit sulking, usually for some nonsensical reason. It was too cold, it was too stuffy in camp, pine needles keep on pricking his pads. There was always something to justify the built-up irritation within him, in his mind anyway. Currently, it was the fly buzzing around his ears, apparently wanting a piece of his frog breakfast that he had dragged all the way to his makeshift bed of fallen leaves. His ears flicked, shooing the fly away, but it would only return a few moments later.

"Shove off! It's leaf-fall, why are you still here?" he hissed, swatting at the annoying insect. He had been told that the cold kills most of the pests last time he had an issue with bugs. However, it seemed it wasn't cold enough yet to start the purge, and this fly was rubbing it in his face. It was also apparently deaf as well, paying no heed to his dismissal and continuing to aim for his frog. "Get your own prey!" Another swat, another miss. His fur prickled, wrinkling his nose at the insect as he pulled his prey closer to himself. He wasn't going to share with a bug.

The air grew chillier with each passing day, and Loudnose already missed the cozy heat of green-leaf. He wasn't bitter to the cold, but the previous sunny days were some of his favorite. Resting somewhere in the camp, the tom's eyes flickered as he spotted a beetle a couple tail-lengths away. He couldn't resist shifting into a hunting crouch, inching closer and closer to the bug. His gaze followed the black dot as it scurried around, trying to find something. He quietly wondered what it was searching for. A moment of stillness before Loudnose darted forward, bringing his paws upon the beetle. His tail swayed in victory, releasing the bug. The tabby watched it scuttle away towards a tortoiseshell ball of fur. His ears perked, who is this? Padding over to the kit he saw it bat at a lone fly. Oh, so he likes bugs too? the tom assumed. Nudging him with a paw Loudnose greeted the kit, "Hi there." He smiled, interested in learning his name.

Being so focused on his battle with his main enemy, the fly, he didn't notice the approaching tom until he was right upon him. He jumps at the sudden nudge to his side, twisting to see the newcomer. A stranger, as was most cats in camp. The tabby was kind-looking, but Cicadakit's paws didn't loosen on his frog any. Clanmates didn't usually steal prey, he recognized that, but he wasn't going to allow the tom nor the fly to swoop in while he was distracted. Just in case.

"Who are you?" he asked, his tone more accusatory than inquisitive. His eyes scanned the tom before him, searching for any alternative motives behind the polite smile on the stranger's muzzle.

He pulled his paw back, it seemed that Loudnose had startled the kit. "Sorry for scaring you, never intentional. My name is Loudnose!" he replied with energy, lowering his front half down to the kit as a playful gesture. Loudnose might have seen the kit before, but it was hard to remember when there was so much to memorize about stuff outside camp. All the best hunting places, how to hunt different animals, where to find- wait I should focus on my friend. Eager to know more about the the tortoiseshell, he began his usual friendly tumble of questions, "And who are you? Your name? Do you like bugs like me? Snails are really cool, but some cats say they are not bugs. I think they are bugs, what about you?"
