| Rookfire padded out of the medicine den. Everything seemed to be going smoothly for the black tuxedo so far. ShadowClan had rogue problems, but for now it was all fine. Perhaps he needed to get an apprentice soon, though. When he had to help deliver Murkystrike's kits while also having to patch up her wounds, and then rapidly have to save one of her kit's lives? That wasn't ideal for one cat to have to do alone. He could do that, as he did end up saving the young kit. However, even he couldn't be at two places at once.
At the same time, he didn't know who would be interested in being his apprentice. Poppypaw seemed to be mostly focusing on becoming a warrior, and the black tuxedo didn't have any other options. Perhaps he would have to wait for an opportunity to arise. Just because he was overworked sometimes didn't mean that he couldn't succeed. And the one time when he was overworked was when a queen was attacked by rogues, went into labor because of the stress, and it just so happened that one of her kits wasn't breathing properly. And even then, he was able to handle it. He could wait for a good candidate.
A feeling suddenly overtook him, rushing through his body. It was a little like how he felt before the rogues attacked Murkystrike and Foxspark, but it was also pretty... different. The sensation wouldn't go away, no matter how much he reassured himself that there was no way that there were hostile rogues in the middle of ShadowClan camp. Actually, as he walked forward, the sensation weakened, almost like he was being guided somewhere. Eventually, the sensation disappeared, and the black tuxedo turned to look at where he was. He was at the opposite side of camp from the medicine den, which was very strange in of itself. At his paws was something even stranger, a green maple leaf on the ground.
The medicine cat blinked at the tiny leaf, trying its hardest to be picked up by the breeze drifting across camp. ShadowClan didn't have many trees at all, and the trees they did have were pine, not maple. How a maple leaf appeared at the middle of camp was beyond him. Perhaps it was a sign? Perhaps not? The black tuxedo wasn't sure, but it was certainly interesting to say the least. I probably should tell Flintstar... once I figure out what it means. ______________________________________ Rookfire, ShadowClan T3 Warrior: 50/120Kitespring, RiverClan T3 Warrior: 50/120Ambersun, SkyClan T2 Warrior: 40/100Laurelkit, WindClan Kit: 10/30pfp by the amazing xaandiir! |
