Spottedpaw was **bored**.

The she-cat lounged in a patch of blessed shade within SkyClan's camp, her chin in the dirt, a paw on either side of her muzzle, her belly flat against the blessedly cool ground. Her long, fluffy tail lashed against the ground in irritation. Why couldn't Greenleaf be over already? She wanted cold, she wanted to see snow, which she'd only ever heard the elders speak of, and never experienced herself. Spottedpaw huffed.

Too busy lounging in her own heat-induced misery, she almost missed the shape of her sister moving across the clearing. The apprentice's eyes narrowed, glinting with mischief and purpose. She'd missed the first bird she ever tried to hunt, but she wouldn't miss this time. Already on her belly, it took but a twitch of the muscles for her to shift to all fours, crouched low, and take one, two, three deliberate steps towards Maplepaw. She moved forward, stealthy as a shadow, and when finally in range, charged forward with a yowl of preemptive victory.

She landed squarely on her sister's back, claws sunk in just deep enough to grip fur instead of flesh, and attempted to roll her to the ground together.

Beechface sat at the edge of camp, thankful for what little shade she'd managed to get to herself in the miserable greenleaf heat. She missed leafbare, and it was probably obvious with the grumpier-than-usual expression on her face. A few of her half-siblings were also in camp, which didn't exactly contribute to her good mood, but the real problem she had was with the unbearable heat.

Movement caught her eye, Maplepaw going... Somewhere. Beechface didn't know and didn't care. More movement, and Spottedpaw's preemptively-triumphant yowl rent the air. Beechface let out a low snort of disgust.

"Bit early to declare a victory, no?" She commented dryly, though her whiskers twitched with suddenly barely restrained amusement as her half-sibling tackled her fellow apprentice. She had no stake in this, but watching them spar with each other should at least prove entertaining.

Maplepaw shrieked indignantly, rolling around like a overturnt beetle to pull her sister off of her- how dare she attack Maplepaw so dirtily, and in broad daylight! A true warrior should attack their enemy head-on, to make it fair for each party-

The brown tabby huffed. She supposed it wasn’t the time for preaching warrior etiquette, especially to sassy Spottedpaw.

Making sure her claws are sheathed, the young apprentice bats at Spottedpaw’s face and shoulders, attempting to dislodge her from her spot on Maplepaw’s belly.

Maplepaw used Front Paw Strike, dealing in 6 play damage and costing 10 SP.

"Hey hey– hey!"

The sound of Newtpaw's oft-used whine rose across the clearing. He had been relaxing half in the sun, hindquarters blanketed in shade, and quite enjoying his rest until the voices of his sisters broke the midday quiet. It took a few moments before his brain to catch up to what has happening, but it registered quick enough for him to join in. They were fighting, and without him, no less!

Heaving himself to his paws, he stretched out his limbs before breaking into a full sprint, setting a reckless charge for the gathered cats. He hadn't really picked a target, and it'd be rude– but pretty funny –to attack Maplepaw after Spottedpaw had just leaped on her. He was quickly running out of options...

But Beechface was his sister, too. Which meant she was fair game, as cranky as she was.

He veered sharply, paws sliding as he readjusted course, and cried out the medicine cat's name as he slammed into her shoulder.
