| Dennis stretched and yawned, even more tired than usual. His body wasn't used to all this activity anymore, and the prospect of travelling to the Moonstone in the middle of the night running on only herbs and willpower didn't appeal to him much. For a moment, he wondered if Spiderquill had enjoyed them. He had a lot of the memories back, but they didn't feel his. He sighed, shook out his thin pelt and forced himself to leave his den. Grabbing the two pristinely wrapped herb bundles he'd prepared at the mouth of the den, he went over to the apprentices' den and tapped his paw gently on the shoulder of one abnormally old apprentice. Turtlepaw, he vaguely remembered. He'd been a loner for a while, just like him. He wondered if they'd met before without realising, though he doubted it. He remembered most of the cats he'd met in Twolegplace.
"Psst, Turtlepaw, are you ready to go? I got some herbs for you. I'll wait outside the den." He padded out of the den, freezing for a bit when he came face-to-face with a warrior he didn't know before he remembered with an inward groan. He was still under house arrest. Still, though, he had a job to do and he fervently kept that on his mind as he ignored the warrior and waited for Turtlepaw. ______________________________________ Woolywing of RiverClan-45/90* Butterfly the Loner-40/100 Blackbear of SkyClan-50/120 Lousekit of ShadowClan-10/30 *=disabled **=unborn |

| The prospect of moving out of the apprentices’ den was highly appealing to the patched tomcat. Turtlepaw was still a relatively small cat, barely much bigger than the eldest apprentices, but there was a gap in the level maturity between himself and the other occupants that made his pelt prickle with irritation. Mountainpaw and Sneezingpaw, in particular, giggled and shuffled often. Some others stared at him and wondered why an adult cat was so small. He didn’t speak to the other apprentices, mostly because he’d only been there for a single day and also because he didn’t know what to say to them. Perhaps they were friendly... but perhaps they were not.
He was still awake when Spiderquill fetched him from the den. Turtlepaw clearly remembered the medicine cat with bald patches. He hadn’t interacted with him much, but right now he was more than grateful to see his pink face. Turtlepaw only realized something was quite different when he shuffled out from the reed den. ”Spiderquill, your leg! Are you ok? What happened?” he asked, remembering to keep quiet so the rest of the camp wouldn’t wake. He hardly registered the warrior that had joined them or the bundle of herbs by Spiderquill’s paws. ______________________________________ Sun // Living Characters // Deceased Characters

| Dennis shuffled awkwardly. Turtlepaw, clearly, had known him back then. Perhaps not well, but enough to make Dennis weirdly uncomfortable. "Ah, hm. A- a dog got it. It's alright though, still got three more." He offered a pained grin and swallowed his herbs as it he could also swallow the sudden awkwardness he'd created. Hopping from paw to paw, he waited for Turtlepaw to eat his herbs before heading off out of camp. He tried to go as fast as possible, though with Turtlepaw's size he didn't need to rush nearly as much as when he was walking with Ivystar or the "twins".
A while later, Dennis and his two travelling companions final reached Highstones. He smiled at Turtlepaw before heading into the tunnel, making sure he was being followed. He briefly closed his eyes in the glow of the Moonstone and motioned towards it. "Go ahead, touch it. It's worth it, probably. If you don't get a mean one." Ah, great. Scare the poor cat, that'll make him like you. ______________________________________ Woolywing of RiverClan-45/90* Butterfly the Loner-40/100 Blackbear of SkyClan-50/120 Lousekit of ShadowClan-10/30 *=disabled **=unborn |

| There was a lot to take in. A mean one? StarClan cats could be mean?? The apprentice shivered slightly, hoping he would get a nice cat. Truthfully he didn’t know what to expect. Turtlepaw hesitated slightly and then followed Spiderquill’s instructions. He pressed his nose gently to the cool surface of the rock and felt a strong drowsiness overcome him. He fought it for a few heartbeats before his lids closed and he fell into a deep, comfortable sleep. ______________________________________ Sun // Living Characters // Deceased Characters

| Even after his death, Troutstep was anything but nice. His entire life he'd been a nothing but a grumpy old tom, but his clanmates had learned to get used to it... one way or another. Most cats described StarClan as a utopia sort of realm, which was certainly true, but being like he was, Troutstep never really understood why everyone worshiped it so much. Of course, he wasn't going to complain, seeing as though his life had ended far too soon, but that did mean that he got to live reunited with his family among the stars.
Per usual, the orange and ginger pelted tom sat alone on the empty cloud covered moorlands, concentrating on nothing in particular. Noticing a shape begin to appear not far away from where he rested, he lifted up his head from where it'd laid on his paws and focused his gaze on what seemed to be an apprentice. The young tom's pelt didn't shimmer with sparkling stars like those of deceased cats, which meant he was probably just visiting. Standing up, he gave his pelt a shake, sending specks of stardust falling back onto the misty ground. With him being what looked to be the only cat around, he knew what needed to be done, even if he didn't want to do it.
"Here for your Moonstone journey, right?" Troutstep asked stoically as he approached Turtlepaw, though he assumed that was what the younger cat was there for. Like always, there was little to no emotion on his disgruntled face even when "welcoming" a cat to StarClan. ______________________________________ ~ ice ice baby |

| The apprentice’s bright eyes shone as he took in his surroundings, obviously in awe. Of course the elders had told him stories of StarClan’s territory as a kit, but being here himself was much more powerful than even Carpsplash’s description. A tom not too far away caught his attention. He had flickers of light in his pelt and a harp gaze, and Turtlepaw shrank away. “Ah... yes... my name is Turtlepaw...” he meowed nervously. ______________________________________ Sun // Living Characters // Deceased Characters

| Listening as she spoke, Troutstep lifted a paw and began to lick between his ginger pawpads, not bothering to even try and hide his disinterest in the younger tom's appearance before him. Letting out a sigh, gave his hind legs a stetch. As much as he hated it, he knew he was the cat the apprentice was going to talk to for their Moonstone journey. Well, if he gave him an answer, maybe he'd go away quicker.
"I'm no good at advice, so hurry up and follow me," Troutstep mewed, his voice bland and crass as he turned around. Padding away up a hill that sat behind the pair, he knew Turtlepaw would catch up and kept up his pace, eager to get back to doing... well, nothing in particular. Stopping at the top of the hill that overlooked moorlands bellow, the StarClan tom's gaze was fixated on something in the distance. A ways away sat a cover of grey mist that shrouded the horizon. Seeing through it was nearly impossible, but if some-cat were to get closer, the gleaming eyes of the cats banished from the starry plains could be seeing and their sneering taunts and whispers could be heard.
"Know what that is?" he asked, looking down at the apprentice. ______________________________________ ~ ice ice baby |
