Hunting Time [Open Hunting]

The sun was warm on Birdsong's pelt, though there was still a crisp bite to the air. Newleaf was in full swing, and the greenery in the forest was a welcome change from bare leaves and snow. She stretched, rising from her spot near the warrior's den, and padded towards the camp entrance. A day like this was too nice to spend lazing around camp.

Birdsong glanced towards the fresh kill pile, noting there was a single sparrow. Hunting was as good an excuse as any to get out in the forest.

"Anyone for a hunting patrol?" Several heads turned in Birdsong's direction at her call, which was good.

Copperfox hadn't done much yet today, honestly feeling a little sluggish. He heard Birdsong call out for a hunting patrol and... with a lazy, tired sigh, he got to his paws. Can't be lazy all of the time. He thought to himself. Maybe it was the occasional warm day that he found to be more unbearable than normal, with his long fur and all. He padded up to Birdsong and gave her a nod, though his eyes were still heavy from being tired. What was the matter with him?

"I'll join you, Birdsong." He stretched his back legs luxuriously and then followed up with his front, extending his claws fully. He was content to wait for others for now, as his tiredness was taking longer to wear off than he would have liked.

For once, it was nice not to wake up to bone-piercing chills and snow that had to be waded through. The days had been getting warmer and longer, which was something Tuftwing was glad for. As Birdsong left the warriors' den, she stirred and groaned. Getting up was such a hassle, but there were Clan duties to attend to. Even if no one was ordering her out.

A few moments after Birdsong's departure, Tuftwing followed out into the clearing. Her ears perked at the idea of going hunting.

"I'm always ready for a hunting patrol. Maybe this time we won't anger the one goose in SkyClan territory?" Tuftwing joked.

Copperfox and Tuftwing soon joined Birdsong, and she gave her uncle a nod. He seemed tired... But maybe it was just one of those days. It was warm out, and Birdsong herself had half a mind to stretch out in a patch of sunlight. That could be done after getting some prey onto the fresh kill pile.

"What, you didn't like the company? I think the goose really just wanted to say 'hi,'" Birdsong smirked, matching Tuftwing's sarcasm with her own. Turning, she led the way out into the forest and towards the creek. It had been where they'd encountered the goose, but it was also a good place to find prey.

Spotting a bird picking at the ground, Birdsong dropped into a crouch and carefully crept toward it. Only to rear back in surprise at the hiss of a snake.

"Foxdung!" Birdsong grumbled, kicking at the snake as she moved away from it, very much not wanting to get anywhere near its' fangs. The snake was a quick creature, and moved a touch too fast for Birdsong's claws to catch, however.

Birdsong used Back Kick for -15 sp, dealing -10 damage. Attack missed.
